I took a chance and took a PT about 30 min ago (even though it said you get the best results in the AM). I got a + reading within about 30 sec. I called to schedule dr appt only to be told I would have to wait 4 weeks for an appt. Is that normal?
Congratulations!! I'm glad your stay was short & sweet. Happy Pregnancy.
To answer your question: it all depends on the practice. Some doctors don't see patients until 8 weeks, some 12 & some 16! There is more to see (usually) that way & they can go from there.
If you've never seen the doc before, it will take longer to get an appointment. It's part of being a new patient.
And it sounds like other posters are telling you that most docs don't need/want to see you until 4-8 weeks.
I promise to never forget that this little dude deserves just as much love after the baby comes as he has now.

Yes very normal to have to wait because you can't even see the baby on an ultra sound until at least 6 weeks, and sometimes they can be hard to find even then. 8 weeks along pretty much guarantees that you will see the little teddy graham. (because with a good picture, that is EXACTLY what they look like with their little nubbin arms and legs)
If you'd like to know how you are doing blood results wise, most family Dr's will do a beta for you.

For the record, I never said that I didn't like anyone. I simply voiced my opinion that some of the posts were pretty harsh. I didn't mention anyone by name. Maybe if you thought my comment applied to you, you were one of the ones who were posting nasty messages. But it's all good....I am a firm believer in Karma. Seems fitting.
WTF is that line supposed to mean? Are you saying bc you tried to post some heroic response in a thread that's why you're knocked up and others aren't? You really a peach. GTFO already and squueeeee onto First tri

An appointment at 8 weeks is normal; I was 8 or 9 weeks at my first appointment.

My OB doesn't make patients wait to confirm a pregnancy. With DD, I called on a Monday and had an appt. that Thursday.
