socks, shoes, foot-coverings.....

What's your baby wearing these days?

I'll just answer here.  My baby goes barefoot.  And therefore has dirty tops-of-her-feet from crawling.  Are my floors really that gross?  Guess so.

Re: socks, shoes, foot-coverings.....

  • Myles usually wears his shoes at daycare and when he is home he goes barefoot.I always mop my floors but no matter what he always manages to get the topof his feet dirty.

  • Barefoot here, too.

He has constant dirt on tops of his feet and knees.  I guess my floor is pretty gross too :(

  • Yeah, when DD was crawling she pretty much lived barefoot or in socks... A lot of socks!

Now that she is walking and wants to walk everywhere we use shoes.  We have a pair of See Kai Run shoes (love 'em) for when we got out, sandals for the backyard, and she goes barefoot inside the house.  We use about a quarter of the socks as we did before because now she only wears them if we are putting her See Kai Run shoes on.

  • Barefoot in the house and if we're just staying on the grass part of the yard.

Sturdy hard soled shoes when we venture to the barnyard/barn. Usually Circo for Target. Cheap and fit her great. They get grody and she outgrows them so fast I just can't spend a lot.

For out and about there's an etsy shop that makes Robeez like shoes in fun patterns. My sister got LO a pair for her birthday and I just bought 2 more. A bit spendy but I love them and the quality.

As for socks...I don't even know if I have a pair that fits her at the moment. She hasn't had socks on since early spring. Such a PITA and she hates them but doesn't mind shoes. I better get some before fall hits!

  • Barefoot unless we are out, then he wears shoes and socks.  At daycare I was getting a call every day about him falling and hitting his head.  I finally said, "take off his socks".  Crazy people...

I know he has to wear shoes outside, but you'd think they would have figured out take off shoes and socks when he come inside after like the 2nd fall.

  • Barefoot when we are in the house or if we are running in someplace where he won't be walking around. Yea, I'm the mom in the grocery store with the barefoot kid in the cart because I'm too lazy to strap shoes on him. I am not looking forward to the time when he resists riding in the cart or being carried and I have to always remember shoes for him.

Regular hard soled shoes or sandals for when we are outdoors and soft soled shoes for other people's homes.

He wears socks with his shoes, but not sandals.

  • My son's the same. I have him barefoot at home and at grandmas, or with socks, but those usually come off anyways. When we go out it's just socks too.

I haven't been shoe shopping just yet, mostly because I don't see the need for them until he starts walking. Then we can look for some because I do not want him walking around barefoot in public places. Most of the floors are dirty and you have no idea whats been there.

And I kinda have the same thing going on with my son too! He has darker "rougher" spots on the tops of his feet. I don't think it's dirty, it may just be from crawling around that get's the skin dark... who knows LOL

  • Barefoot. We have all hardwood floors. He is always filthy from crawling around. Last night, I mopped all the floors. He also had a bath right before bed. Within an hour of waking up, he was already dirty. So embarrassing to always have a dirty baby. I don't know where it is coming from! I keep joking that I am going to make him an outfit out of Swiffer cloths so he can clean the floor as he goes.

  • She goes barefoot at home. She has a pair of Robeez Mini Shoez that I normally put her in when we go out or a pair of the soft soled shoes from Target. Lately she thinks she needs to walk everywhere so that is the reason for shoes but up until 2 weeks ago I was the mom with the barefoot baby in the stroller or cart. At that time the only thing that was happening with the shoes was her kicking them off and almost losing them!

  • Barefoot at home and in soft soled shoes in public. She hates socks so we're avoiding them until winter.
  • Barefoot at home, in See Kai Run or those silver Stride Rite shoes I had posted about before (love 'em and they look adorable in person!). I can't tell you the last time she wore socks.

  • Shoes when we go out (good Stride Rite walkers and some cheapie Target ones) and shoeless inside.

  • Barefoot.

Once she starts walking, and we're out in public, then I'll have her wear shoes (she's never worn them for more than 0.735 seconds before.

During winter, she wears socks for warmth.

  • In the house he goes barefoot unless it's cold and then he wears socks. Outside, if I know he's not going to be walking around (like grocery shopping or just a car ride) he's also barefoot. If walking, we have soft soled shoes for him.
