I am 28 weeks and 5 days and I already gained 45 pounds with my twins. Yikes! My doctor said I need to watch because I will gain the most of the weight at the end of my pregnancy. I am 5'4 and was a healthy weight of 125 before I got pregnant. I eat when I'm hungry but I know I need to make healthier choices.
How much weight did you gain with your twins???
Re: How much weight did you gain?
I gained 39lbs and my boys were 6lb 4oz and 5lb 8.5oz at 35w5d. I'm 16lbs under my pre-preg weight now
I gained 70lbs, by 8wks PP I was down 60ish. I've stayed around here since then (19wks PP now)
ETA I BF and supplement, and my boys were almost 7lbs each.
FWIW, I just went there out of curiosity and you can't see the responses if you haven't voted. Most polls have a 'results' button and don't require you to vote to see the results. I doubt we want people voting a random # to throw off the actuals just to see the results of the poll.
No i didn't breast feed, but I think a lot of the reason I lost more was because of the stress of multiples and not eating as good as I should have been. But still I did lose a lot initially... (I think 30 pounds out of w/in a couple weeks) Most was water weight and babies.
I'm not exactly sure how much I weighed pre-PG. I had my first Dr. appointment at 13 weeks and weighed 137. I gained 36 pounds by week 28/29, but then was diagnosed with GD and didn't gain weight for two weeks! Since then I've gained about 4-5 more pounds.
My dr. seems pretty relaxed about it, but it is nerve wracking for me to see the numbers get bigger and bigger. Do I feel ashamed of my vanity? Yes, but it seems to me if you (by you, I mean me) had body issues before getting PG, you will still have them during your pregnancy.
I gained 53. I had lost 40 by one week post-partum. I still have 10 to go to my pre-pregnancy weight. I started at a normal BMI.
I am reallllly hoping stopping pumping will help. Some people report hanging on to extra weight while bf'ing despite diet and exercise. I am not exercising as much as I want to (running about 10 miles a week), but I have been working on my food intake and things aren't budging yet.
Boy/girl twins born at 37w1d and 37w2d
7/30/12 - B/G twins born at 33w4d due to PPROM

Also forgot to mention that I lost it all but 5 lbs by about 2 weeks PP. Then gained another 5 by the time they were 6-9 months from just having NO time to fix dinner so I was eating poorly. Now I am at my prepreg weight, but its just not the same!
Soo, now I am trying to lose an additional 10 lbs, hoping I will feel more like I did pre pregnancy.
With my first who was only one baby I wasnt careful about my weight and put on 48 pounds and lost it all within the first 6 months. This time around I am not being careful about it but I do get on the scale at least once a week and just to have a peak. I have only put on 16 pounds so far.....which amazes me because I thought with twins I would be packing them on. I'm sure I will closer to the end but I thought for sure I would have had more weight on by now.
Good Luck
Robin
