Remember how we were all worried before LOs came about how many onesies we need, if we had enough sleepers, etc.!?
I was thinking about C's clothes yesterday and how differently I buy now. I really tend to buy much less stuff but nicer brands because I know they will last email a long time AND I can resell. I'm really cheap though so I've bought all of his winter stuff during the year on awesome sales and at consignment shops. All said, he has much less than he did as a baby, but good grief, I'm jealous of how nice it all is, ha ha!
So, does your LO have a lot of fewer clothes now or still a huge wardrobe?
Have your buying habits changed?
And most importantly, does LO dress better than you?
Re: Challenge - What's your LO's wardrobe like?
I buy a couple nice lots of clothes off of ebay and then we'll buy a few clothes here and there. I just got one yesterday and I was very pleased with the clothes.
Of course she dresses better than I do, lol.
My habits are the same. I buy everything at consignment sales and my mom usually buys them 2 outfits for their birthday and christmas. I also get some hand me downs from neighbors. Every so often I need to buy a pair of shoes from Walmart to fill the gaps between consignment sales but I can usually find never worn shoes from there no problem.
I definitely think they dress nicer than me even if their stuff is pre-owned!
We had so many clothes given to us before J was born that we STILL haven't had to buy anything. Occasionally, I'll see a cute shirt or need something specific but we haven't had to buy anything because he needs it. And all the stuff that was given to us has been name brand stuff so he gets to dress really nice.
I normally wear jeans/khakis and a nice blouse or either a dress so we both dress equally nice. And DH wears dress clothes to work. We probably look like snobs when we go out but I promise we aren't lol. We've just been really blessed in the clothes department haha
She definitely dresses better than me.
She has a lot fewer onesies now than she did back in the baby stages. I just have a few left that she might still fit into, but she doesn't wear them. We also just do t shirts and shorts for bed instead of real pjs.
I don't think my buying habits have changed much in terms of style, but I don't buy as much because she doesn't grow as fast as she used to. I always shop sales, and never buy anything full price.
DD has a lot less clothes now. Most of them were given to us for birthday/Christmas, or were bought at a consignment sale by my ILs in the spring. I make sure she has 5-7 play outfits that I don't care about for getting messed up at DC, 2 or 3 medium outfits that I let her were for play around the house, and 1 or 2 nice outfits for going out or dressing up.
And she will probably always dress better than me.

His wardrobe is mostly comfy stuff, jeans, shorts and polos or tees. I like to dress him a little more like a nerd than most probably. So sometimes I get hand me downs, and if they have crazy cartoons characters or camoflauge or something, I just don't put him in it. I would say he has a somewhat large wardrobe, but I do buy stuff on sale and baby clothes in general to me don't seem that expensive when you stick to Carters, Target and Kohls, which is where I get most of his stuff (with coupons!). I also have bought stuff on sale from Gymboree and Gap, which are more expensive.
I dress nicely, so I would say we are about even.
He definitely dresses better than we do!
He just got a new pair of Jordan's from my cousin, meanwhile I have been wearing the same sneakers for at least 3 yrs.
We bought nearly his whole summer wardrobe in one shot, then my mom bought him a few outfits. He's got about 5 pairs of cargo shorts & 3-4 that are sweat pants or basketball shorts material. His shirts range from tshirts to nicer polos.
He's lived in his Target sandals all summer though - they were only like $15, so definitely a bargain. I hope his other shoes still fit him by the time fall comes b/c he's got a few others in his current size that he's barely worn b/c it's been so hot out.
This is us too, except that my mother continues to buy B a bunch of stuff. We went to visit over 4th of July -she had previously purchased him a r/w/b outfit back in March for him to wear - but when we got to her house she had 3 more r/w/b/ shirts waiting for him. Sheesh mom, it's just a one-day holiday, not a whole season.

I tend to stick with Carters and OshKosh right now because I do good with the sales and I buy for the next season on clearance (bonus of having 3 boys so close in age - someone will fit into it at some point!) I'd say they still have roughly the same amount of clothes. We have a generous family that loves to shop for the boys so they are never without a new outfit to wear lol
...and yes, they definitely are dressed better than us!
I think she has more now. I have a problem.
I buy her nicer things now.
Yes, yes she does.

LOL! At least you're confronting your problem. That's the first step! (But why would we want to fix this problem any way, right?
)
