so sad...tired of the violence in this city

I am about five miles from where this happened last night, but I used to work in the hospital right next door (and DH really didn't like me working in that general area).  Just seems so much violence against kids in this area (although in this particular instance, I have a feeling the gunman were looking for their Daddy) - earlier this year a couple were arrested after an newborn's body was found in a freezer, in the general area (not just the city) there have been too many (one is too many, this has been way too many) shaking deaths, I have seen in the coroner reports too many babies lately, in a town an hour and a half south a few months ago, a 3 day old baby was killed by the family's dog.  Are there just so many people that really don't care about the safety of a child anymore?  I remember five years ago, DH and I were getting ready to head to Vegas.  We had to stop at his work on the way there because he had to complete a report on a baby's death and he was just so upset about it.

  • Very sad.

Unfortunately, I think senseless stuff like this happen all over. You might just hear about it more where you live since YH is in his particular line of work. My dad was telling me about how there has been a rash of cases in my parents' town this summer of babies/kids being left in the car and forgotten. There are careless and violent and disappointing people all over.

You know, I keep telling myself this, that stupid people are doing stupid things all over.  And you're right, I do hear a lot more than many people do because of DH's job...and growing up it was the same because my dad was also a cop (I tell you, between the two of them and many of our friends, I have heard some stories you would not believe).  But it just seems like it is getting worse.  And now they have updated that the younger girl has died.
