is frustrating..

I asked her about any potential dates and all she could tell me was.. it is too soon. I see other people here that have their dates for their induction/ c-sections so early. I figured I could get the same. All of my appointments are like whirlwinds because she is the only doc in the city. She told me that in 3 weeks I will have my "big" scan so I should bring a book because its going to be long and there is another mom scheduled as well...

Also, come to find out the babies are laying sideways. So all the extra stretching and pushing is them laying weird. Everything else was perfect. Bladders are developing normally and they have plenty of fluid. I am still 5cm's so I am happy.

I'm sorry. We didn't discuss dates until 35 weeks if that gives you any comfort. You might just ask her how late she lets people go - that will probably be your answer. Our doc doesn't like to go much past 37 weeks and will induce (or do a C-section if necessary), so we knew it would be around then if no labor signs showed up.

When I was around 22 weeks they just told me they would do my c/s around 37 weeks. I didn't get an exact date until like 2 weeks ago. I wouldn't worry about it to much right now. Glad to hear the babies are doing good.

I just got my date last week! It's way to hard to predict how long they will let you go this early. So many things can arise between now and then! I think the people that got their dates ?ber early are in the minority!

This. I knew my OB wouldn't let me go much past 38w, but we didn't have a set date until around 36w. I wouldn't worry about it too much now, I'd start really asking at 35/36 weeks.

Our MFM scheduled deliveries after 34w for the 37th week (so at the 34w appt, we scheduled for 37w1d). 3 days later we found out we'd be delivered at 35w1d for complications.

Great news that the babies and your cervix are looking good!

I had an appt yesterday and my MFM said they "call it quits" with triplets at 35 weeks, but of course its too early to have a scheduled date. Did he tell you when they like to schedule for twins? They must have a general protocol they follow, or maybe they take it individual by individual. Either way, you're still early to schedule something- I wouldn't worry yet.

My OB would never give me a date either. I went in one day for general fatigue and the tops of my thighs were a little sore....I was having regular contractions and didn't know it. Had them that evening at 34.6 wks via repeat section.

I wouldnt worry too much if I were you. You are still super early. I am 33 weeks at my next appointment and I am sure its still too early for my doctor to give me a induction date. I know he will induce me at 38 weeks, but still, I think it will be a game time decision. Hang in there! I know how frusturating it is ... and how the uncertaintly can drive you crazy.

I will just tell her that. She knows about the complications so she has been pretty awesome. She has allowed me to work from home more just so I can relax and lay down whenever I feel like I need to do so. I was just wanted to help my team out since it is so small with the scheduling issues that may arise due to my absence. Thanks ladies!

I saw all the posts at 16weeks of their C/S and inductions and worried for nothing! You ladies are awesome

Mine would never discuss dates with me..he always said let's just wait and see what happens. I went for what would be my last appt with him at 32w5d and he told me I could go another 2-3 weeks. Surprise

I was in pain and just miserable at that point and couldn't imagine waiting that long. I ended up going back to the hospital that night and having my c section the next morning.

Honestly, even if they schedule a date for you, it isn't a guarantee that you'll make it to that date. Particularly if you are scheduling far in advance. Tell your boss that you likely won't make it past 38 weeks, but there is a chance you could go earlier/be on BR prior to that. That's all you can say really. Twin pregnancies are inherently more complicated and anything can happen in the next 15 weeks.

This. I understand wanting a date for your own piece of mind, but even if they say "Okay, we're scheduling you for an induction on 11/22/12" doesn't mean the babies will get the memo that they're not coming out before then, KWIM? You know that 11/26 will be around when you're scheduled if that's 38w so tell your boss that's the latest... best case scenario.

No one ever discussed specific dates with me. I knew 11/11/11 would be the latest because that was 38w and my MFM doesn't let twins go past 38w. They didn't get into specifics with me until 36w when my MFM said "You're delivering this week. Schedule your c/s with the OB at your NST."
