which one?

Hi all,

I'm new to this board and am hoping you'll let me crash in with a question! I'm looking for a versatile carrier. We will be expanding our family sometime in the next year or so I'm looking for the one I can get the "most bang for my buck". Right now I'm looking to make a decision between the babyhawk and action baby carrier. I want something that will be good for now (15 months old thats 21 lbs) and later when i have a new itty bitty. any suggestions would be great. Thanks :)

Re: which one?

  • I really liked my  mei tai (like the Babyhawk) for a little baby. I've lent it out so I haven't tried it lately, but I think it would still be pretty comfy.

  • I haven't tried a Babyhawk, but I've had several friends who absolutely loved them.

I have an Ergo Sport.  I love it.  I got it when #4 was 4 months old. She's 19mo right now and 24lbs-just wore her today at the store.  I think I'm going to get one of the new infant inserts when this baby is closer to coming so I can use it on him/her right away.

  • I really like both of those although I think the babyhawk is better for a newborn as it's easier to do legs out with a tiny one.  The ABC is probably more comfortable for a 15 month old.  It's hard to find a carrier that fits both a toddler and a newborn perfectly (woven wraps and ring slings do because they don't have "sized bodies" to them like buckles and mei tais) - it might be worth thinking about getting something that works well for your 15 month old now and getting something best suited for a newborn when you have a newborn.  ABC is offering toddler testers on their website right now that would be a great fit for your 15 month old with plenty of growing room.  Then snag a babyhawk when new baby comes along ;)  I have other babywearing info in my siggy link that might be helpful to you.
