I hit up a sale today to get baby boy 2 some sleepers. I want to use them for the 0-3 stage and then wondered if I should get 3-6 for those first three months to compensate for cloth diaper bulk. What do you think?
My LO is tall and skinny, so with some things (especially sleepers because of the feet) I have to size up sooner. I think the cloth diapers probably contribute to that, especially when he was tiny and the diapers were big. However, it wasn't anything major, and it may not have been an issue if he weren't tall to begin with.

I think it depends on a lot of factors - your DS' size, how bulky your CD's are, how the sleepers run - but there have been times that DD's CD's have created a need for larger sizes earlier, mostly in pants. The really crazy thing though is that right now DD is almost 15 months old. She has some 18mo pants/shorts that don't fit at all with her CD's but then she has a pair of shorts that are 3-6mo and fit better than any other pair we have. So you never really know!
I use pretty trim diapers and I had to size up in pants and onesies. Footies seem age appropriate even with cds... though its hard to be sure bc DS has always been a size ahead since day one.
Only if he's wearing pants or shorts that aren't very stretchy. Then I have buy a size up and get the kind with the little adjustable tabs so we can make the waist smaller.
I think a 3-6 month size sleeper will be huge on a newborn. DD is a larger-than-average baby and she wore NB clothing for about a month as 0-3 month clothes were too big when she was born even with the cloth diapers.
She's 6 months now and in 9 or 12 month clothing. But that's because she weighs 17 lbs and has a long torso - not because of her diapers.
Oh definitely go a size bigger. With bulky cloth diapers the kids grow out of their clothes faster than if they used disposable. My 2 yo wears 2T/24mo pants with cloth diapers, but if he has been in a disposable during the day (which is very rare), he has some major low riders. My girl is a chunky girl already and same goes with her and her clothing sizes.
Tough to say. DD is in the 75th percentile for weight and only 25th percentile for height so she's chunky. And her diapers are thick. So yes, she's wearing a size larger than her age.

The only clothes DD grew out of earlier were onesies because of the length vs. bulk of CDs. Otherwise she was in appropriate clothing sizes. She grew so quickly anyway so she wasn't in one size for long.
It's so dependent. There's a range of sizes in LOs closet and it has very little to do with the diapers.
I always buy sleepers bigger becuase they shrink, she outgrows the length and they just seem tight. I also want them to last awhile.
Leggings and knit type pants are right on size. My LO is 12 months and has on 9-12 pants today.
I swear baby clothes are weird sized like adult clothes now too! She has everything in her closet from 9 months to 24/2T at the moment. It's ridiculous. My kid is on the taller thinner side but definitely very average still.
Jeans I need to go bigger for the diapers..but that's about all.
My DS wears normal sizes except at night because his butt is so big from his night time diaper. We put a fitted on him plus stuff the fitted with a prefold for extra absorbancy and a cover on top...his butt looks HUGE lol but ya we usually put him in a size up for night time only.
