Re: questions for ftm

  • I go back tomorrow (and the chick I relieve has the cajones to ask me to come in an hour early- that was a resounding no)

I only work on the weekends, but oh my word. My mom will have him, but Im still heartbroken he wont have me. I do want them to have a great relationship and obviously I survived, but Im still so nervous. He needs him Mama.

Im also nervous because I draw blood- yeah haven't done that for a few months so I hope my first few patients are easy!

  • I am having horrible anxiety about leaving her! My school year starts aug 27, I'm going back for the first week to meet students and then taking 5 weeks off but I am literally already losing sleep over it.

Someone wrote in a post earlier this week it's quality, not quantity, that is important when parenting so I'm just tryng to keep telling myself that!!

you know, thats a really good point. I think the break will make me love on him more and be more mindful with my time with him.

  • I have been dreading going back to work and also contemplated staying home for the first year. However, I went back to work for a few hours this week, and to be honest, as soon as I got back to my office, It felt nice. It was nice to start seeing patients again.

I decided to go back to work only part time until Jan to make the transition easier. Honestly, it's not being away from LO that makes me not want to go back to work, it is being able to trust that I have good reliable childcare that is what stresses me out the most.

I'm only going back PT too, contemplating SAH the first year ... never though I'd say this.

  • It was super hard for me to go back to work after DD was born. I ended up reducing my schedule to a four day week. I have to go back in two weeks after DS and I already dread it. I don't think it will be quite as bad as last time, but it's still going to suck and I can't reduce another day because I lose benefits and we aren't quite ready for the additional pay cut yet.
