Anyone's doctor prescribed a Zofran pump?

Lurker here :)

I am in my 10th week and have had the worst morning sickness. I hadn't kept anything down for 3 weeks and my doctor was sending me to the E.R. every other day to get iv fluids. Anyway, he finally decided to refer me to a company that deals with in-home care, so I am now getting iv fluids 24/7 and I have a  pump with a catheter going into my stomach so I am getting a constant stream of Zofran as well.

I've just never heard of any of this in pregnancy before and I am wondering if any of you ladies have been through this?

  • I'm sorry you have to go through that. I had friends who were terribly sick, but not to the iv fluids and zofran pump extent. Still one lost 25 pounds and only ended up gaining 10 back. I hope the pump helps you feel like a human again.

Thank you! I am just dying to be able to play with my little girl again and get back to a normal life!

I'm just lurking, but do you have Hyperemesis Gravidarum? That's what the Zofran pumps are usually prescribed for in pregnancy. I had it with my DD and it was hell.

If you do, or if you want to learn more about it, www.helpher.org (sorry can't make clicks on iPad) is a great site, and they have a forum full of other HG moms.

Yes! That is exactly it. I'm sorry, I should have stated that in my post. Thank you for the info. I have been hoping for someone to talk to that has dealt with this.

  • Thank you so much! You have been a great help!
