TTC After a Loss

Ladies who live in/near Chicago 2.0

Can you recommend your OB? I love my OB but I am considering a second opinion on all my RPL results but don't even know where to start. I'm looking for a laid back OB who doesn't make me feel like they "lay down the law" even though its my body etc...if that makes sense. Can anyone help me out?

  • With RPL you should see an RE. I'm at Advanced Fertility in Gurnee and absolutely adore the RE's and nurses. I see the midwives at North Shore Associates in Evanston if you would like an OB, and I love them, but they're not fertility gurus. Good luck.

The RE affiliated with my OB and my MFM didn't do much for me but push IVF, 2 separate occasions so it makes me anxious to go see another one.

  • That's not an argument against seeing an RE. It's an argument for finding another one/getting a second opinion. If IVF is legitimately your best option then that's what it is - but if you don't like the RE, then find a different one.

It's a lot like seeing a heart specialist for something with your eyes - they're both doctors but certainly not experts on different fields.

I totally get what you're saying. I just meant more like I was worried this was the approach all RE's would take.

  • My OB is Dr. Levitt at the Women's Group of Northwestern. I'm very happy with her, but you should be warned its a BUSY office - they tend to run very behind with appointments. Dr. Levitt did my initial RPL testing and then referred me to Dr. Coulam who did my HSG and polyp removal. I'm still not sure if I click with Dr. Coulam.

As far as other RE's, I've heard good things about Dr. Kaplan at FCI, but I think its a long wait to get in with him.
