Two Under 2

sharing a room...

My 2 DDs are 17 months apart. Due to space issue they are goingto need to share a room. My youngest is 3 months yesterday. I'm really ready for her to be out of our room. I usually end up on the couch because she wakes me up with her noises. I'm a little reluctant though. My 1 year old usually wakes up yelling or crying in the am. And 3 mo old sleeps through the night but wakes up a little earlier than DD2. Any advise on when you joined the kids? Should I wait a little longer or just go for it?

Re: sharing a room...

  • My boys are only 15 months apart and they started sharing a room when DS2 was about 3 months old. It took a couple weeks but then they got used to each others noises and it has been fine since.

Just go for it and give it a few weeks.

  • I put them to bed together. DD was 3 months and DS was 18 months when they started sharing.  Each had a sleep sheep/giraffe.  My kids (thank god!) are sleepers, giving me 12+ hours a night. DS usually wakes up first in morning around 9am and wakes up his sister by going over to her crib and saying "good morning charlotte" so she jumps up and laughs at him.  Mornings are the best:)

Challenge is twin bed coming soon. eeekk I hope my great sleepers stay great sleepers.
