anyone else near fainting??

Went to Target today with DD and felt just a little tired, as usual....,kept on with my business and suddenly lightheaded, hot, got a little winded, flushed in the face, heart pounding, and basically wanted to fall over....I didn't, but made it to the register and chugged a bottle of water from the cooler and felt better in a minute. I had eaten before I left, so what the heck? Anyone else have an episode like this? I've felt ok since, just tired, so didn't call my doc.

  • I obviously need to change my ticker, but I'm 9 weeks along.

  • Yep, I get dizzy and lightheaded a lot, mainly when I stand up without taking some deep breaths first. Yesterday I was feeling very tired and weak, so I stood up to go lay on the couch and nearly fainted.

Same here, I need to remember not to jump up so fast!

  • I feel like I want to faint on the regular. This pregnancy more than the others. With my daughter I actually had the same thing happen to me when I jumped up when my doorbell rang. This happened when I was pregnant with my daughter earlier this year. My housekeeper called 911, bc I was seeing spots. I freaked out, but kept staring at DD #1 bc I was not going to allow myself to drop. That was not an option!!!!!!! When they got there they said my BP was through the roof, and I was all sweaty. Turns out, I just have to make sure I'm drinking H20 and getting plenty of rest. I think sometimes we forget that we have to be slow. You said you were shopping, right? When I go shopping, I forget it all, and get in shopping mode!!!! I think I will shop online this year for the holidays via the world wide web, propped up in my bed. I am NOT dealing with those crazy people this year, especially the way I feel. I hope you feel better, and I'm glad you rushed to water, and I'm guessing you are home relaxing. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
  • I often feel like that due to low blood sugar and slight anemia (you might want your OB to test you for that).  You need to make sure you are snacking, drinking lots of water, and adding some iron-rich foods to your diet.  It sucks feeling bad and scary when you have toddlers around.  Take care of yourself and feel better!

  • I've been feeling really dizzy and light headed for a few weeks now. It really doesn't matter how much I eat or drink, or rest. It's really annoying me.

  • If you feel like fainting, the best thing is to get COLD orange juice and drink it immediately.  The juice will provide sugar and liquids.  Cold water is also good but, a lot of time, I feel faint because I haven't eaten something in a little while and the sugar will help perk me back up.  I've also noticed that I tend to get dizzy when I wake up in the middle of the night so I try really hard to remember to stand up slowly.
