Hey ya'll! Waaay overdue birth story of Taylor Reese! PIP!

Hi Bumpies! So, last time I posted was exactly two weeks ago when I was sent to the hospital to deliver her. I have been pretty busy to say the least. As some of you may remember, I'm doing this solo right now. My honey was transferred in May, but the good news is that we get to see him for the first time tomorrow evening. So very excited for him to meet his daughter!

So here's what happened: Taylor wasn't "due" until August 15th, but we continued to have issues with my placenta and rapidly decreasing amniotic fluid. On Wednesday the 26th, it was supposed to be a routine Doctor's appt. Well, two u/s's later, I get a phone call from my OB telling me to go home and grab my hospital bag, and meet him at the hospital in an hour. We're inducing. Oh hell....WHAT?!?!

I arrived at the hospital, and we started the induction at 6 P.M. with Cervidil. We left that in until 6 A.M. the following morning. That night I had minor, minor cramping. Nothing worth even mentioning. The Dr. showed up to take the Cervidil out and do a cervix check. UM, OUCH ON THE CERVIX CHECK!!! Not cool. He said I was barely softened and had zero dialation. Awesome. I was allowed to eat breakfast and around 8:30 A.M. they busted out the big guns...the Pitocin. The drip was continuously cranked up until around 11:30 A.M., then we hit level 13 out of 20....AND OHHHH MAN. Bottom line, those contractions hit, and I was OWNED by mother nature. She throat punched me, and then KO'd me with a judo kick to the uterus. We rocked n rolled with piticon until 3:30 when my BP was still really high and the Dr. was not happy with watching Taylor's heart rate struggle after each contraction. Right after the call was made for an emergency c-section, my water broke, but Taylor and I were struggling to get through every contraction. We made it just fine through the surgery and my Little Texas Peanut was born at 4 P.M., weighing in at a ginormous 4 lbs, 14 oz! She was so alert and ready to go, she needed zero assistance of any kind and scored 9/10 with the APGAR. She's a little trooper and has been gaining weight steadily ever since. Last week we were up to 5 lbs, 02 oz.

I am so thankful for my Doctor's strict monitoring and best judgement to get her out when they did. Ultimately they realized my placenta was failing badly. She should have weighed a minimum of right around 6 lbs at 37 weeks, but she couldn't because my body was struggling to keep both of us going and she wasn't getting every thing she needed. There were two very experienced doctor's who actually performed the surgery and they said they didn't realize how low the amniotic fluid really was, until the made the initial incision. They stated that normal when the incision is made, fluids will run out, and they have a buffer between the blade and the baby. They made that incision and the first thing that popped out was hair. They said there was nothing left, and they don't know how badly things would have gone down hill if we would have waiting another day.

The recovery has been amazing. Nothing like what I thought it would be. I was up, walking, and showering myself by the next evening. I don't know why it was so quick for me, but I think my maternal instincts kicked in and said "Hey woman, this kid is dependent soley on you, so get your sh*t together, and get your a** in gear." I just put my mind over my body and made myself slowly start moving the day of the surgery. I kept slowly lifting my legs and would prop myself up higher every hour and then lower myself. I stayed on my regimen of pain meds, and sent her to the nursery every night until we were discharged four days later. We are taking every day in stride, and we feed like clock work every two hours. I am pretty tired, my hair has not been combed in two weeks, and I'm still rocking those sexy mesh hospital under-roos! Oh but my boobs stopped leaking, so that's kinda cool. Either way, I'm super sexy, and I know it. Wink

To all you mama's who gave birth already, Congratulations!!!!! And to all you mama's still cooking your little buns....I am so very excited for you and wish you best!!!

Here she is ya'll....Say hi to my little blue-eyed cutie!
