Any Mono/Mono twin moms?

Just got back from our ultrasound this morning.  We went first to the Dr.'s office but then were sent to the hospital for confirmation of what they are pretty sure are mono/mono twins.  We have another ultrasound in two weeks to get another look at things, but I think they are pretty sure there is not a membrane separating them at this point.  I know there are so many questions, but I think I am just in shock with the odds of this being so low.  Are there any other mono/mono mom's for support?

Re: Any Mono/Mono twin moms?

  • have you been to monoamniotic.org yet? it's a very good resource.

there's still hope...we didn't see one of our membranes until 23 weeks.

(did you have an early ultrasound? did they count yolk sacs?)

  • I will have to check it out, thank you!  I am really hoping that it is just hiding.  I did have an ultrasound at 6 weeks as well and there appeared to be only one yolk sac.  I guess I don't even know how to react at this point because I don't know too much about the risks and complications.  At the appointment in 2 weeks we will have a longer conversation with the Dr.

  • You will be able to find a lot of good information and support over on that site. Everyone was so kind, even after it turns out mine were not momo. Don't google, you'll get a lot of bad, incorrect info. Have your doctors started talking about possible treatment plans?

  • I also would recommend the monoamniotic website. I don't know that i have momos, but i also don't know that i don't yet (i have only had one u/s at 8 1/2 weeks and he said the did not see the membrane I have spent a fair amount of time prowling around there as a result and it seems more positive t all the other crap google comes up with (yes....i highly recommend staying away from google too). There are a TON of women who were originally.told.momo and later on down the road discovered the membrane. It is scary, yes. I hope they find yours. One of the moms from my 06 bmb had momo girls and they are now six, so i have been badgering her (as well as this board). Good luck!!!

    I hope they find it.
