First Beta Results...
We got our Beta results after our first medicated cycle. BFN, which I knew. I tested yesterday and got a stark white. We are obviously sad, but, since this was the first "normal" cycle I have had, and therefore our first cycle of officially trying, we were both very realistic.
Now we move onto round 2 (of 3 in our treatment plan) of 50mg Clomid+Ovidrel+TI+Progesterone. When the nurse called I asked her all kinds of questions, which included what the lifetime use of Clomid is and what options are beyond that, whether TI is the best direction or if we should think about IUI and if I should have an HSG done now, instead of after 3 (possible) failed cycles of doing what we are doing now. She said given that I wasn't ovulating at all, they really want to give us the chance to conceive this way, but said that they would be happy to do the HSG now if that was what we wanted. She told me that they have opted to wait on the HSG because there is nothing to lead them to believe that my tubes are blocked, that the first problem is my lack of ovulation. She was very kind, very supportive, very informative and seemed to be very willing to do/not do whatever we were comfortable with. DH and I talked about it and I think we are going to go ahead with round 2 and re-evaluate doing the HSG, if necessary, after this next cycle.
Do any of you have opinions or advice? TIA

Dealing with MFI, good count, good motility, 3% morph-HSG all clear, all other test results came back normal, IUI is our next step

This! Totally agree! It takes just a few minutes to do and will quickly tell you if there is a problem. Personally, i would want to know all the "plumbing" was clear before i was TTC.
4/12: HSG All Clear
5-1-12: DX of PCOS
5-4-12: DH S/A all normal.
5-16-12: Offically start IUI#1-->Clomid(50mg) + Trigger + IUI + progesterone supplements=BFN
IUI #2-same treatment-->BFN
July IUI#3-same treatment--->BFN
Aug 22, 2012-Laparoscopy Found/Removed extensive endometreosis.
September 2012-IUI #4-Same treatment as before. BFN
October 2012-forced break/Surgery to remove abnormal cells in left breast.
November 2012-First Injects Cycle (IUI #5)! 225IU Follistim CD 3-5, then monitoring appointment. 20+ follier & e2 >2000-Mild OHSS
December 2012-#2 Injects + IUI#6): Beta 1/18/13-BFN!
Jan 2013-Starting IVF!!! BC starts Jan 17/Lupron on Feb 13/Stims on Feb 18/ER on March 1 IVF Protocol: Lupron 10 units in am until stimms. Then 5 units of Lurpon in am, 150iu of Follistim and 1 unit of Menopur in pm. Holding dosage throughtout since response has been great. Thought we would be freeze all due to OHSS, but ended up getting more follicles then expected! 14 total!!! 12 mature and 11 fertilized. Dr calls for a 5 day transfer!!

Yeah my doctor wanted to start my first cycle without the HSG because I had no signs of blocked tubes and they only do them on Wednesday afternoons and yadda yadda yadda but the ladies here convinced me to wait for it and I'm glad I did. Nothing was "wrong" but it was nice to have piece of mind. Also I have read that the first three months after an HSG you are more fertile.

NQB when I first posted on this board about what my RE was doing you said then to push for the HSG so I was waiting for you to respond to this! DH seemed to agree with the nurse that we should wait, but, I agree with what all you ladies have said on here about giving us peace of mind. What CD are they normally done? If I have one done it means taking a break from the meds, etc for that cycle right?

Don't wait to do the HSG. Do it now. Are you $$ sensitive? Is insurance covering everything?
Clomid + TI is fairly cheap which is I think why a lot of doctors push for a few rounds before having you spend the $$ for the HSG. But you are using some of your lifetime cycles of Clomid without knowing if anything is blocked. Plus if you decide to do IUI with a cycle instead of TI and your tubes are blocked you are wasting your time and money.

I agree with PP, I'd get the HSG sooner rather than later... make sure everything is in good shape.

Thank you so much for all your input/advice. I called the nurse back and talked with DH a little more. The nurse said it would mean no meds this cycle, and since I don't ovulate on my own, mean taking Provera and going through all the labs etc in 30 days and basically starting at square one again. Also, if we did get pregnant this cycle, it would mean getting our BFP in my bday month and the baby would be due in DH's bday month, right around our anniversary. I know it is silly, but we are both hopeful that it might just be our cycle. I am sure I will be kicking myself for being so naive and even admitting that in a few months, but, that's where our heads are right now. If this next round ends in a BFN, we will definitely take a break month and do the HSG per all of your advice.
Again, thank you. You ladies are very knowledgeable and although I don't post as often as many of you, I stalk constantly and am always so appreciative that you are willing to take time to answer my questions/give support when I ask.
