Chocolate gives me heartburn (except for choc ice cream, for some odd reason). I've tested this out numerous times recently. I just ate peanut m&ms. I now have heartburn. WHY do I do these things to myself?
Because they are freakin' delicious? I, luckily, haven't had heartburn, but I know I wouldn't be good about figuring out what causes it or stopping eating those things.
Hey, at least it's just chocolate. I get heartburn from everything. To the point where I've started taking a 1/2 tsp of baking soda with a 1/2 c. of water every night before bed so I don't have to get up to take Tums in the middle of the night.
FYI, baking soda + water is disgusting and I don't recommend it, but it's fantastic for heartburn. And gas.
Heartburn hasn't been my issue. But rice gives me the worst, most uncomfortable gas pains I've ever experienced in my life and yet I still order chinese food with white rice almost weekly. I typically plan it around days when I don't have to head into work as early so I have more down time to get it out with stink bombing my co-workers. Sometimes delicious food is worth the pain.
Water gives me heartburn. Go figure. Also, apparently my baby hates chocolate milk and orange juice. Every time I have tried to drink either it's made me horribly nauseous. He doesn't mind hot chocolate....just chocolate milk. LO and I are currently NOT friends.

Me too. I also get it from citrus anything. Chocolate and lemon (not together!) are the two things that I crave and I continue to eat them daily so I just suffer with the heartburn.
Re: The latest reason I'm a dumba**
That's literally what I was going to write.
FWIW, I keep doing the same thing. It's so worth it.
Haha, in the same boat as you but with pizza.
Pizza has been giving me heartburn, yet what is my husband making for dinner...... pizza. And muggins here is looking forward to it!
Yes! Pizza gives me heartburn too. But every Friday, I salivate as I gear up for pizza night.
Someone else on here said chocolate gives them instant heartburn. Maybe that was you, ha.
Bread does it for me. Better bread than chocolate, I suppose!
