I had a growth u/s on Tues, and they said baby is about 7lbs 2 oz. ( I'm 36.5 wks) I also know to take this # with a grain of salt as measurements tend to be off a little....
Just curious if any of you know your LO's weight, or if your a STM, how accurate were they at predicting LO's weight?
Re: Do you know the guesstimated weight of your LO?
As an US tech we usually say that we can be up to a pound off either higher or lower (often lower) of the weight we give you. It can vary due to the tech, baby's position and how well mom scans.
My DD1 was weighed to be about 8lbs about 1.5 weeks before I gave birth. She was born at 8lbs 8oz so that was really pretty accurate, when you consider baby gains about 1/2lb a week the last month of pregnancy.
Last week at 33 weeks, LO was measured to be 4lbs 15 oz.
On Tuesday 33w6d his growth ultrasound read him in at 6lbs 3oz
If he makes it to 39 weeks they're predicting 8.5-9lbs. This is right on track with my other two (38wks=7lbs13.5oz and 39wk=8lbs7oz)
BFP #2 11/30/09 EDD 08/12/10- Sophia Grace born 8/1/10
BFP #3 11/16/10 EDD 08/04/11- Samuel Richard born 7/28/11
BFP #4 01/04/12 EDD 09/19/12- Simon Nathaniel born 9/6/12
BFP #5 03/27/13 EDD 11/25/13- Savannah Lee born 11/18/13
I had my growth U/s at 35 wks and dd was measuring 6lbs 2oz. The tech looked at my u/s from ds which was at 36wks and he measured 7lbs 1oz and was born two wks later weighing 9lbs 1oz.
Being I'm RCS at 39 wks the tech said she will probably be about the same 9 lb mark. We shall see!
I had my last u/s at 28 weeks and LO was measuring almost 4lbs; at every visit since then the doc feels around and says I am having a big baby.
I was told at 35 weeks that baby was about 5.5 pounds.
My OB has told me twice now that he expects baby will be 8 pounds at birth.
I had an u/s Monday due to me not growing. He was just over 5lb and measuring 10 days ahead.
I didn't have any growth u/s with DS1 so I can't speak to how his actual weight compares to the u/s measurements.
I had an u/s happy OB with #1 and #2, and his u/s estimates were right on. He estimated DS at exactly 9lb, he was born the next day an ounce under that. He estimated DD to be just under 9lb, she was born the next day at 8.13.
My OB here doesn't do u/s this late unless there's an issue, but based on my measurements and history he's guesstimating I'm on track for a baby right at 9lb. I feel like she might be smaller than my other two, but we'll see!

I had an ultrasound at the end of my last pregnancy, and she measured about 8.5 lbs. She was born 5 days later at 9 lbs 2 oz. at 41.5 weeks.
I haven't had an ultrasound this time around since my a/s at 19 weeks. I have no idea how big she is measuring. But I'm expecting a bigger baby, just like her sister.
Does everyone but me get a growth scan? Sheesh!
I'll just have to guess based on my weight. I'm guessing the baby weighs 19 lbs. That would explain the 28lb weight gain so far.
DS was estimated at 5 lbs 12 oz the day before I was induced (35 w 2 days) and he was born at 6 lbs 2 oz - so it was right on track.
This baby was estimated at 4ish lbs around 31 weeks. I have another ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow - so we'll see.
