STTN

Last night DD slept for 5 1/2 hours in a row!  So excited! =D

I don't necessarily expect it to last, but I'm sooo glad I got some good sleep last night.

How is everyone else's LOs doing? I've read so many people talking about their LOs sleeping 5, 6, or even 7 hours in a row... am I the only one that's still woken up every 3-4 hours? Or are we pretty normal?

Re: STTN

  • On Tues night my LO slept that long(for the first time)....and last night we're back to every 3 hours!  You're not alone.

  • My little girl tanks up around 9:30 then sleeps until 2:30-3:30, last night she slept for 6 hours.  I was engorged and couldn't wait for her to wake up.

  • awesome! I'm jealous : )

One night, about 4 weeks ago, we got a single 4 hour stretch. Now, she's up every 2 hours, sometimes every hour. Sigh, one day she'll STTN, right??

same here. And ironically enough I could go back to sleep when she finally slept at 7am for 3 additional hours.

  • That's great!! Don't you feel so much better today? I felt so good after DS slept 6 hours in a row the other night.

That's not the norm for us though. He's usually up every 3-4 hours.

  • My LO usually sleeps 6-7 hours before he wakes up hungry. I think it helps him that we give him a warm bottle right before bed. Every once in a while we'll have a night where he wants to eat every three hours but thankfully that hasn't happened many times since he was about 3 weeks.

Fingers crossed your LO give you more nights like that! If you're bottle feeding, definitely try a warm bottle! =)

  • Longest we've ever had at night was 4 hours.  I'm soooo looking forward to when I can even get 5 hours.  Lately though it's been a pretty consistent 3 hours at night and she eats and goes right back to sleep so I guess I can't complain TOO much

  • I am so jealous of you ladies!! I get 2 or 2.5 at a time.  One time he slept 4 in a row and it was shocking but he never did it again :(
  • Last week he started giving me 5-7 hour stretches. He is EBF on demand so I was thrilled- from everything I've read I was expecting to not sleep longer than 2-3 hours for the next several months. We had one blip where he was up every 2.5 hours on the dot to feed, but crossing my fingers that 5-7 is his new normal.

  • DD slept 6 hours at 6w2d.  I woke up at 6:30am and was scared to death that something was wrong.  Ever since then, as long as I make sure she has a full belly and is tightly swaddled, she has slept through the night, adding an extra hour each week.  She will be 10 weeks on Sunday, and last night I put her down a little after 8pm and she was down until just before 7am.

  • DD sleeps a 5+ hours stretch most nights.  Last night was actually 7!  But DS didn't STTN until he was a year old, so there is definitely a wide range of sleep patterns.
DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.
