Did anyone have excessive vaginal swelling or sharp shooting pains very, very low before you delivered your preemie? I only ask b/c my first was a late-term preemie (36 weeker). He was very healthy, no complications other than some sucking / swallowing coordination issues & 7 lbs (which is why I think I delivered early - I'm tiny and I think my body just knew he needed to come out). The midwife has said she is certain that I will deliver as early or earlier this time, but didn't mention a specific reason.
I didn't have any vaginal swelling or these sharp shooting pains last pregnancy; I'm guessing it's just that my pelvic floor is already stretched out and it's just change in blood flow, etc etc etc exaggerated w/ a 2nd pregnancy. But then I started thinking perhaps baby is lower than what I thought already and it is the pressure of the head causing the swelling. It seriously feels like the baby is about to fall out sometimes - I never experienced this last time.
Any feedback is useful! It's driving me a little crazy for the midwife to be 100% certain I will go early (which I just can't believe she could know for sure) and now I just want to know if these symptoms have anything to do w/ her prediction :-)
Thanks!
