I really wasn't even planning on registering to be honest. But my family who lives across country from me wants me to so they can get me and the baby things. For my shower, it's going to be mostly girls my age in college so I'm not going to expect them to get me bottles, breast pump,or blankets. They have limited budgets, so baby clothes and diapers are what I see them bringing, which trust me, I'm fine with! But that leaves me in this weird spot, and as a FTM I have no clue what to even register FOR, let alone, where. So any advice is much much appreciated!
Re: where have you ladies registered?
I wouldn't go through all that, but our families and most of our friends are out of state.
Babies R Us and Target
I'm not doing it, but I've heard of myregistry.com.
I guess you can add items from any site on there.
Currently I have walmart, target, and BRU, but I am not sharing my registry with friends/family because it's mainly for me to get the completion coupon.
Well, first, we registered at BBB and Amazon. I like BBB because it's like BB&B, which I love, and Amazon gives you the ability to add things from anywhere, hence "universal registry".
For the Amazon one, I mainly have fun things, like toys and cute clothes and miscellany. For the BBB one, we have all the essentials, like carseat, stroller, bottles, diaper bag, diapers, etc.
We found the guide on TB and at BBB really helpful, but we also found others' advice on which brands and styles/models were best. If you have no idea what to get at all, then TB has a guide on what is necessary and what isn't so necessary. That should help you get started.
Same!
We're not doing an Amazon registry because both our families are not too into online shopping, but they can shop online or instore at both BRU and Target.
We chose not to do BBB because the closest to us (and the majority of family) is about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs away.
Wedding Album/Knot Bio/My Pregnancy Chart
BRU (main registry), Land of Nod (mostly since gma was buying crib and I wanted to make sure she got the right one), PBK (but only for the completion discount-not going to tell anyone), myregistry.com (just to keep tabs on all of the cute stuff I find online). May do an Amazon registry later for books and other misc stuff.
Most of these registries are for myself though. As I found out with my bridal shower/wedding gifts, my family and friends aren't really registry savvy.
I used Amazon and Target.
I figured that way I had both types of shoppers covered.
The online addicts (like me) and the store strollers (my MIL)
Plus Amazon has a nifty "add-on" button where if you are browsing somewhere and see something you like/want you click the button and it adds it to the registry. Love this!
I'm on amazon and BRU. The amazon one has most of our stuff mainly b/c BRU doesn't have too many organic/greener options.
If I were you I'd just register for all sorts of stuff you'll need, at various price points. Maybe since their budgets are limited they'll want to go in on a group gift for you - which typically would be a lil higher price.
