I am 15 weeks pregnant with my first child. My husband and I go to church every week and during the music part of service it's like a concert. They have a stage with people singing, drums, guitars, the whole 9 yards. And I was just wondering if being around that loud music bothers the baby in anyway, especially the baby's hearing.
Re: Being around loud music while pregnant
From what I understand, the womb itself is extremely loud.
Also, I go to a similar church service. The way I see it, is since the baby can hear now, in the womb, it's good to get him/her used to what you do on a weekly basis.
For instance, and I'm not sure how true this is, but I've read that babies who hear dogs barking in the womb, are more easily able to sleep through it once they are born.
It's perfectly fine and not going to harm your baby in any way. As PP said it will get your LO used to that particular sound.
DS was exposed to a lot of trance music while I was pregnant. For the longest time after he was born if he was fussing and having trouble sleeping, I would play some trance and he'd settle right now. Also, dogs barking never bothered him, as he heard a lot of that in utero too. My dog could stand next to him and bark and he wouldn't even flinch.
This is SO my little guy. The first time I felt him being extremely active was at a Cardinal's game back in June. I thought it was just a coincidence, but since then every time we are in a "loud" setting, he gets pretty active. I think he's mad that he's missing out on the party!
This. If anything, it is positive for your little one because he/she is getting used to the sounds that are part of your life. We played a lot of music while I was pregnant and it's funny, but it is almost like they remember it a little when they come out. There were certain CDs that I played before and after birth that seemed to resonate with our son. He still likes them and asks for them now.
I remember going to a Benny Hinn service and my son was bouncing and kicking like crazy in my belly,, it felt so weird and uncomfortable I had to sit down. But I dont play loud music regularly, just church (like you said) so Im not too concerned about it. I wouldn't go to a rock concert and stand in front of a speaker but I think you're fine in church
