To prevent LO from rolling over on to their tummy at night. I co-sleep with Austin after our 5a.m. feeding its perfect cause Austin wakes up when DHs alarm clock goes off for him to get up so i feed him and then just roll over and slide him on to DHs side of the bed making sure that there is a pillow on is one side and I am on his other. Well this morning when i woke up cause Cale was awake i found Austin sleeping on his tummy side ways on the bed. It was a side to see and made me smile but at the same time it made my heart sink. I am as DH puts it one of those that is not afriad of losing like one to SIDs it is a full blown panic of mine (A really close friend of mine lost her son to SIDs when i was eight months pregnant with Cale) and ever since then it is up at least six times a night to make sure that both boys are still breathing and are doing okay and that everything is fine. Study shows that them sleepin on their stomach increases the odds which just increases my panic because Austin is able to roll over from his back to his tummy in one movement. He hasnt done it in his crib but he does it when he is on my bed and on the floor and i am so terrified that something is goin to happen because of it. I know it probably sounds silly but everyone has their fears and this is just mine. So what do you do to prevent your LO from rolling over onto their tummy at night when you and them both are sleeping???
Re: What do you do...
LO prefers her tummy, I didn't sleep for the first few days because I was so worried. I kept turning on her back but she would cry. We compromise...she sleeps on her side. I wedge a pillow behind her (next to DH) and I loosely swaddle her (she hates when she cannot move her arms/feet) and take the rest of the blanket and tuck it in front of her, keeping her on her side. She sleeps great. I prefer her side, if she spits up at least she won't choke. I was so "against" co-sleeping before she was born. Now...I wouldn't have it any other way.
