best diaper cream?

my poor baby has bad diaper rash...one spot is so raw, it is bleeding I have been using desitin, which seems to have helped the raw area, but her tush is still red, 3 days later. I used to use butt paste with my oldest, but wasn't sure which was stronger, or better...never used triple paste, but heard that was good too...

any thoughts? or combinations I should be using? She has been crying more than normal, so I'm assuming it's bothering her

I liked Triple paste the best. I would wash the bum with warm water and rag, pat dry and then apply Triple paste.

I found that my daughter's skin is too sensitive for maximum strength desitin - which has 40% ZO. Rapid relief desitin has 13%. A&D has 10% ZO, which is what I typically go for. After couple of days of using medicated cream, I will use Aquaphor/eucerin for a couple of days. I'll also use cornstarch baby powder. Those steps typically clear it up faster than the medicated creams.

I use Aquaphor religiously with both of my girls. However, DD2 just had a horrible rash, and the Aquaphor + Balmex combo wasn't working. I called my pedi, and she said to use Triple Paste, so I did. The rash cleared up within a day.

Lots of nakie time to air out her bum. We put her on a waterproof matress pad and she loved all of the nakie time. DD had bad diaper rash a few weeks ago and we cleared it up with Desitin max at night, Balmex sprinkled with Anti Monkey Butt Powder during the day and lots of nakie time in between.

The Burt's Bees diaper ointment is great! And it doesn't stink (imo) like some of the others.

We are dealing with the same thing with our son. Our pediatrician actually recommended we see a children's dermatologist so we did. She said it was just a diaper rash and that some babies are more prone to diaper rashes than others. We change him every 2-3 hours and he still get the rash. It goes away but then comes right back again. The dermatologist recommended Triple Paste AF (anti-fungal). DS has spots that sometimes bleed also so I would recommend visiting your pediatrician and then possibly trying Triple Paste and maybe the Triple Paste AF. We currently use this at every diaper change and a prescription of Desonide 2 a day on the sore area. Good Luck!

Oh my goodness go get pinxav! It's pronounced pink salve. It is by far the best! Aveno, Burt's and Butt Paste have all been replaced by this! If you can't get it in stores (drug mart or Walgreens) it is worth ordering online!

We were given a diaper cream for our baby shower by a friend who used to live in France. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find it in the US if I liked it and I finally found it! It is a certified organic diaper rash cream that really works.
