Can we talk Car seats again???

I wasn't planning on buying anymore car seats until Caroline turned one, but holy hell she's getting heavy to carry in the infant seat. I still plan to hold off until she has hit 20lbs (we have the Chicco keyfit 30). My arms are killing me every day that I carry to and from daycare, etc. Normally if we are out and about I take her out of the car seat and put her in the stroller, but at daycare I gotta leave the car seat in case DH picks her up.

Annabelle has the Graco myride 65 in my pilot and we have the Cosco Senera in DH's Accord Coupe. I'm thinking we may just upgrade Annabelle's car seat and let Caroline take what Annabelle currently uses. I just need recommendations for another car seat for Annabelle. I've heard good things about Graco Nautilus. My only concern is finding a carseat that fits in a small two door car. I really don't like the Cosco Senera, so I'm looking for another suggestion.

Thanks ladies!

Re: Can we talk Car seats again???

  • We have the Myride 65 in our SUV for J and we like it, but for our Ford Focus, with limited room, the Britax Roundabout was recommended because we could use the latch in the center seat (which wont be an option once we have to put the infant seat in, so I'm sure it's the same for you), but also because it's a slim seat.  It fits really well in the Focus and it takes up so much less space then the MyRide (both side to side and front to back), and has great safety ratings.  Albee baby has them on sale https://www.albeebaby.com/britax-roundabout-convertible-car-seats.html and there is free shipping for a purchase of $100 or more.

  • Aiden rides in a Nautilus in DH's car, and a Britax Frontier in my car.  I honestly think the Nautilus is wider than the frontier.  It's weird, the armrests kind of go out.

If you're looking for a really slim carseat, go with a Diono Radian.  I bought one for Claire after my fender bender at the beach, and it's super narrow. However, if you're looking for this to be A's last carseat (ie one that will convert to a booster) the Diono Radian's don't get good reviews (something about how the seat belt fits with it).

  • I have the Evenflo Symphony e65 in my car and I love it! It is so easily to install (and then remove, install again), very cushiony and easy to tighten. DH has the Safety 1st Air in his car and it is def. not as easy to get in and out and I have a hard time at loosening/tightening the straps.
