I will be having a c-section August 28th and I just wanted to know when I should start packing mine and LO's hospital bag? I am a FTM and I honestly don't know what to expect or bring. Any input is great, TIA.
You don't have it packed already? (Just kidding) I'm pretty sure I had mine packed in mid-July (dd was Aug 29th) because I was convinced I'd go into labor while dh was out of town. Not sure what I would have done if I'd had a scheduled c-section. I probably would have at least started by the first week of August.
There was a recent post about what to put in the hospital bag, so look a few posts down.
My bag is packed already with the exception of the bad lol. I am waiting on the overnight bag I bought to be delivered. My advice would be make sure you have 1. big dark colored granny panties 2. very loose high waisted pj or yoga pants or just wear nightgowns 3. make sure all your tops are easy to wear with an IV, loose fitting arms 4. for your own comfort bring your own pillow, sleeping after recovering from a c-section can be a little uncomfortable 5. and if you are nursing bring your Boppy or Brest Friend just to make it a little easier on yourself to keep baby off of your incision and to hold him without straining yourself. Good Luck! Heres to a healthy happy delivery and recovery.
I packed mine the night before and morning of. It just depends on the type of person you are. I am minimal and only used camera, phone charger, robe to walk around, flip flops, toiletries, comfy outfit to go home in, and outfit for the baby. Dont stress too much, your dh can always bring anything you forgot from home.
High waisted pants? I can't find high waisted pants anywhere. I have looked online and they all look like they would sit on the incision. Are we talking maternity pants?
Yesterday. LOL I had started packing our bags months in advance and still wasn't done with she decided to come early! I used to think people were a little nutty to pack bags and do nurseries so soon. Now I know why that's not nutty!!!

I would go to a local store & see what you are buying. I bought yoga pants (Kohls) that were by the pj's. They have a thick waist band that sits on my lower baby bump instead of my underwear line. I hate low rise pants at all, nevermind while I'm pregnant! Keep in mind your belly will still be puffy, with DD (8 years ago) I still looked pregnant for the first week of recovery. I couldn't wear any pants that sat anywhere near my incision for a few weeks. It irritated the heck out of the incision!
I just finished packing & I go in tomorrow at 7 am. I packed:
pjs (1 set of shirt, loose pants), (1) night gown type for the first two nights (nurses constantly came in to check my post op bleeding & incision and it hurt to attempt to pull my pants down every time, a few tank tops & two yoga pants, my own throw blanket, (2) towels for showering (hospital towels tend to be small & hard). Shampoo, soap, tooth paste, tooth brush, ect. With DD, I didn't know I would be admitted the day I went & didn't have my bag. I hated the hospital stuff! It was all unscented, generic, & gross!
I also threw in a few outfits for the baby, my phone charger, camera, magazine, & nursing pads (although I am formula feeding) for when my milk comes in.
I also packed up a few things for the baby but you really don't need much.
Old Navy and Target both carry yoga pants with a fold-down waist. Just don't fold them down and they will be super comfy and even a little bit supportive
I packed my bag about 2 weeks before. I didn't have a scheduled c-section, so I didn't know when I was going into labor. Packing early can make it so you can double check your bag.
I wore a dress home from the hospital. Bring some stuff to take a shower. LO a going home outfit, blanket. Camera, ipod, babybook.
Don't forget about DH. Is he going to sleep there? He'll want something more comfy than jeans. Also a sweatshirt. It's chilly.

I packed mine maybe a month before, after our baby shower I'm a FTM too and just honestly looked online at some lists and just chose what seemed necessary to me. I would say to pack some towels too or have them in the car at all times! I don't know if you are still working now or not, but incase your water brakes at work, you will have something to cover the seats with! And about high waisted pants, I had some old yoga pants/capris I wore. I just had about 4 pairs. Just wear anything comfortable, heck even pajama pants will do!

I did not plan on a c but everything was applicable:
Loose fitting high waisted pants, nursing tanks, nursing nightgown, boppy pillow, toiletries, nipple cream, outfits for baby.
The hospital provided pads, mesh undies, breast pads, diapers and wipes.
