Do i need a kick in the bum?!

So today is just one of those days where i can meagerly function. I've had a cold for the last 3 days and having a lot of difficulty breathing in this humid air. My DH works a stressful job so i try not to complain too much around him. But, today i just can't take it! I asked him to put up the crib and after doing so he is now taking a nap. O.K i get it only day off, tired etc. My poor 4 year old has been stuck in the house because mommy can't really get out of bed except to feed him, quick clean up, make supper. And just those takes me forever to do. I usually bring him out to a park or out to meet friends but i just haven't been up to it lately.

Am i wrong to feel like DH should try and do something with him at least on his day off, like take him out on his bike? He has asking to do so for the past week but he is still new at it so it requires me helping a lot.

  • DH should spend a little time with DS for sure!

  • I would mention it to DH when he gets up.  I don't think it is too much to ask him to help with his child, or a child that he has welcomed into his home if your 4yo is from a previous relationship.

  • No, your husband needs a kick in the bum.  Tell him he needs to spend some quality time with his son and get outside to do so.

Yeah, time off is great for napping but it's also great for spending time with your kids.  Life changes after you have kids, there is no more sleeping in or napping if they're not napping.

They're only small once, treasure every moment.

  • Oh DS is his there is no denying it. Even personality wise, which is why its frustrating me to have to deal with the both of them. I really just want a day off!!!! I've spent all summer making sure DS has been entertained but im reaching the end of the line. I won't give up though because i don't think it's fare to him i just wish DH could just understand! He is usually really good at making sure im comfortable and happy but he doesn't realize that sometimes i would be the happiest if he just took our son away from me for an hour or so lol
