XP--Progesterone Suppositories

Also posted in TTGP

------------

Yep, I've joined the proud group of ladies who get to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. Wooo motherfvcking whoo. Anyway, give it to me straight...how bad it is? What side effects should I expect? I know it's going to be not fun to insert them, the nurse told me to skip the applicator though because it could scratch me? Ugh.

This is the first month my levels have been an issue, it was around 11. Anybody had it happen out of the blue?

Re: XP--Progesterone Suppositories

  • It's not that bad, you get used to it.  Wear a panty liner because you will "leak" and it will be yellow.  That freaked me out the most because I didn't expect it, but other than that I had no side effects or issues.  GL!

  • I did progesterone capsules when I was pg with DS2, a follisitim baby. Annoying, but no problems.  I did find that tender breasts were a side effect.  I never had that with my first pregnancy, but did have it with my 2nd which I attribute to the progesterone.  At my beta my P4 was only 6.4 though so I definitely needed to keep on it.

Last cycle I did Letrozole (unsuccessful) and I kinda insisted they put me on progesterone based upon my low P4. They prescribed  prometrium pills.  They use peanut oil in them and it turns out my vagina is allergic to peanuts even though I am not. Embarrassed  I was so frickin' itchy down there; I was convinced I had a yeast infection.  Once I switched back to progesterone capsules I felt so much better!

This follistim cycle I'm doing crinone.  So far so good.  Although I hate the applicator.

  • YES!  Use a panty liner or something b/c it will stain fabric, it looks like an oil stain.  Pads make me break out so I made some mama cloth just for these special evenings (not for AF!).  Also, don't freak out when you pee and it looks like it all falls out!  It is just the waxy part.  I didn't have any side effects, but then I have only taken them for 8 days and AF showed up.  GL!

  • Thanks y'all! I just got back from the compounding shop and they look like actual pills. I'm not sure what I thought they would look like, but not capsules. LOL
  • Like the pp said, stock up on pantyliners! I've taken progesterone sups before and they sucked. I was on them twice a day and they were leaky and messy. I didn't really notice any s/e except for slightly sore bbs.

After many years and tears our baby boy is finally here
