Re: Still no solids
How would this be a horrible habit?
Meal times are a struggle, he is more of a snack all day long kind of baby at this point. It makes it very difficult to cut out any bottles, especially when day care will only feed at meal times. I guess it may not be a "Horrible" habit, although personally I would perfer a more structured feeding schedule. But for now it works
cooked pasta is one of DD's favorites. She can suck them up or chew on them. Also, I make baby popsicles for her using bananas, greek yogurt, and breastmilk (could use water to thin it out) inside a handheld popsicle container. I've also used former pacifiers and a container to freeze them. I've also given watermelon like you have, but I've added cantelope to the mix with it being the season for them.
DD is not a fan of purees, either. One thing that helped us, I think, is that starting at 5 mos we always put her in her highchair with us at dinnertime. We would give her puffs, then Cheerios a few days later, then fruit, the.... You get the point. She really enjoyed being in ger high chair next to us. It is almost like " monkey see, monkey do". I think some kids just love to eat more than others.
Some of DD's faves are: cheese quesadilla, cheese, sweet potatoes, toast, pancakes, broccoli cheddar nuggets, black beans.
