DS hasn't BF for almost 48 hours. He rejected two bedtime feedings and one first morning feeding. Very weird for him. How can you really tell the difference between self-weaning and a nursing strike?
He is getting his two top front teeth right now and I did respond loudly to a bad bite.
Re: Nursing Strike?
He is still young to truly self wean but...if you have been cutting back sessions already (which is the first step of weaning) then he is being pushed in that direction so is more likely to cut out other sessions on his own. Nothing wrong with that of course - just depends on what your goal is!
If you are ready to wean, then this would probably be a good time to nudge him in that direction. If you want to keep nursing, then I'd keep offering - particularly when he is sleepy - and he'll likely come back around. Teething can definitely alter nursing habits.

If you had a strong reaction to a bite he may be hesitant to nurse due to that. If you want to keep nursing I would keep offering. Maybe even acknowledge the strong reaction and remind him it wasn't meant to scare him and that nursing is ok. I find LO nurses best in a quiet dark room when he's sleepy.
