3 rounds of Clomid = Fail

Hi everyone, I'm mostly a lurker and not a poster. At 35.5, I got pregnant after 1 round of Clomid 50 mg. Foolishly, now 38, I thought it would be that easy again. WRONG! I did 2 at 50, all BW was good. Took a month off, did another round, BW was good and AF showed today. Other than the 21 day progesterone test, I've had no other monitoring. FSH level was fine in April. DH and I really don't want to get into anything crazy medically or financially. We know we are lucky to have 1 happy, healthy child. I made an appointment with my RE to discuss IUI with Clomid.  Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you think its worth it or a waste of time?

    An IUI may work for you. Some women have thick cervical mucus and the sperm can't through it.  

    Just an FYI, your line in bold is a little offensive and judgmental.  IVF is not crazy. Some of us need it  to create our family. Perhaps you didn't mean it that way but that is how it comes across. It's fine if you aren't interested in more invasive procedures but it doesn't mean the procedures are crazy. Just food for thought from an infertile who is purusing donor eggs.

    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    I personally always prefer an IUI along with my medicated cycles even though we have no male issues. Even if the chances of success only slightly more, we'll take all we can get.  Financially IVF is off the table for us, so we try to make the most of the treatments that are within our reach.
    Me: 38, PCOS/ DH: 37

    DD born 12.21.09, conceived w/ injects and IUI
