Who is back at work??

How are all the working moms who have returned doing?

This is the end to my first week back and it has been surprisingly easy. I am sad to have to go back, but it was way easier this time then it was when I went back after having DD1.

Oh and I took 6 weeks

Re: Who is back at work??

  • LO is 8 weeks & I've not went back yet... I WAS planning to go back at 6 weeks & than I found out my babysitter wouldn't be available til another few weeks & than I'm getting my galbladder removed so it will probably be more like 10 weeks before I can return to work...am I disappointed? Absolutely no! I'm dreading going to work, I'm going to cry cry cry when I have to leave him... if it wasn't for the insurance I'd try my darndest to stay at home...but I gta work! :( But luckily I can post pictures at my desk of him...so I'm going to deck my desk of pictures of him! :)

  • I took 12 weeks off so I go back to work 2 weeks from Tuesday. I'm dreading it. I thought it would be easier the 2nd time but I don't think it will be.

  • I'm going back next Tuesday (he'll be 7 weeks)-I also worked a couple of three hour shifts to start to deal with my email and give my husband a chance to give a bottle and me a chance to pump. Husband works a few nights a week (4-9) so we need some afternoon coverage (3-6) and daycare won't start until Sept so I'm going to leave early a few days a week during August. I was on bedrest for a month before little man was born and it feels like forever since I've worked a full day. Tuesday should be fun!
  • I went back three days last week.  It was hard.  Yet, once I left her and was at work for a few hours I was "ok."  I am a first timer, so I am super paranoid and attached.  So far I have come up with every excuse not to go back....  We own our own business, so we have decided only to have someone watch her two days/week and hire someone to take on extra hours at work so one of us can stay home.  It was only $3/hour more!  Our sitter is family and decided to charge us quite a bit more than we expected, so instead of awkwardness with family about the price, we just decided to hire someone at work!

  • I'm going back the week after Labor Day, so DS will be about 13 weeks.  Luckily, DH is staying home with DS the first week I go back to work, and then he'll start daycare the week after.  It'll be tough, but I'm somewhat looking forward to going back and feeling productive again.  Don't get me wrong, I love all the time I get to spend with DS and the bonding (not to mention I know BFing will get exponentially more difficult when I go back to work), but I definitely don't get anything done when I'm at home.

  • I've been back at work for 3 days now, but it doesn't really count because I'm a teacher and we don't actually get kids until Tuesday. But I'm also only part time, so I'm off every day by noon. It sounds horrible, but I think it's actually been good for me to have a break and get to feel productive - I have a lot more patience with the growth-spurt crying because of it.

Baby girl is also being watched by my mom, so that helps a lot - I know she's being loved and cared for very well while I'm away.

  • I took off 14 weeks... went back 2 weeks ago! DS started daycare today... the grandmas were watching him the past 2 weeks. So far, so good! Daycare has cameras, so I've been spying on him all day :)

Wow! You must have a really good job if you can afford childcare for five babies.
