I had both- but I didn't get my sling until DS was too old (and heavy) to get much use out of it.
The moby does get easier once you do it a few times, but I didn't using it out of the house. I felt like the Moby was more supportive of LO and easier on my back.
I like the sling because it was so quick and easy to throw on. It's perfect for a quick trip to the store.

I have a sling, moby, and baby bjorn. It has been a while since I tried the sling and moby because DD really only likes to be held facing forward. For that, that bjorn works great. I like how the moby seems like it will offer more support, but honestly I haven't had the energy to play with it again.

We got a carrier for DH to use because he didn't like the idea of the wrap or sling, he thought they were too feminine for him (silly DH). I think I'll get the moby and try it out. If I don't like it I'll just regift it to someone
I never went the Moby route--seemed way too much work for me. I had a Maya Ring Sling and the Ergo. I used the sling around the house mostly and the Ergo everywhere. I still use the Ergo.
Love the Moby. And I didn't have the chance to answer your earlier thread. I remember putting DD in the Moby for the first time when I took her to the apple orchard. She was 2.5 weeks old.
I have the moby and baby Bjorne...I don't like the moby..it doesn't seem to matter how tight I tie it...it sinks lower and lower as I walk. The baby bjorn works better for us.

I only have a Moby, but DS didn't like it as a newborn. He didn't like it until about 4 months when he could be forward facing. He never liked the newborn hug hold, but I think it's really easy to use after watching many you tube videos.

Never owned or used a Moby so can't help you there.
I have a cheaper style sling and I hate it. I have a big baby (8 lbs 21+ inches at birth). He's now over 16 lbs and 25 inches. He screams if I try to put him in. It just doesn't fit even though I ordered the right size. Maybe we'll have more luck once he seems ready for the holds other than newborn. For now, it's put away. Glad I didn't spend more than shipping on it.
We never had success with the sling. The Moby on the other hand was great. DS loved it, and I didn't find it all that difficult to use. Watch a video online and give it a try. We purchased it whenever he was 8 weeks old or so, and had good head control by then but we also used it for naps sometimes with his head secured under the wrap too.

The sling was pointless. Hated that thing. I used the moby for the first few months, and then went to the ergo performance.
Youtube moby and practice. You'll perfect a wrap or two that will get you through most days.
