End of the road appt with RCS?

When pregnant with DD from 36weeks and on I had internal exams at each appt. Will I be getting these since I am a RCS this time?

Re: End of the road appt with RCS?

  • It probably depends on your Dr.

With DS1 my OB had short fingers and let's just say that getting checked was unbearable.

With DS2 being a RCS my new OB agreed that it really wasn't necessary and didn't do them.

So I would at least ask if I were you :)

  • I've only ever had one internal exam. At 37 weeks with DD#1. I've never had internals with any of the other PG and won't with this one.

  • I only had one internal check at I was 39 weeks. So I am thinking my doctor will not check me.

ETA: I had a emergency c-section with DD.

  • I'm having my 3rd scheduled c/s on Thurs., and I only have had 1 internal in 3 pregnancies, and that was this time around b/c I was having contractions every 6 min last week, and my dr wanted to see if I was dialated at all.

  • My doctor said unless my NST's are showing contractions then she won't check me for fear of starting things up in there and having to perform an emergency c-section. I have GD and baby is measuring very large, especially her abdomen, so things can get dangerous starting on their own (her getting stuck trying to come down).
