Can a sister get some good wishes today?

we found out yesterday that the bank accepted our offer on the house we have been trying to buy!!!!! It's pending the appraisal & all that jazz, but if all goes well, we will be closing September 10th. We NEED this house! So please, send us all your house buying dust that you can spare! I am borderline going nutso because 75% of me is so freaking excited that they accepted and 25% is scared to death something will fall through...I will lose it! Crying

    Thank you! I really had just given up on the thought that we would get this house. i asked DH yesterday about 1:30 if he had heard anything and he said no & he was over it. Then when I got home, he told me that they accepted our offer! He said he was sorry it was pushed so close & I told him that I didn't care if he was signing papers while I was in L&D, I was just so excited that it was happening! We fell so in love with this house!

    Once you're under contract, the likelihood of not getting it drops dramatically. I say you're a homebuyer! :)

    Now to cross everything that the inspection and appraisal come back in the green!

    We are putting down the deposit today! This is our first time buying, so we really don't know what to expect. We think the appraisal will be fine, but it's in the back of my mind. I am such a pessimist.

    Good luck and all the house buying dust i have for youParty!!!.....when DH closed on the house (we weren't married or engaged yet) it came down to the nitty gritty, be prepared to supply information you never thought they would ask for.....tax returns, pay stubs, retirement savings, bank statements, letters from employers about employment, life insurance policies, the color of your bowel movements (kidding) but just be prepared.

     

    good luck, we all want to see pictures of this house.

    It does. The guy who built it had a masonry business. He built the home for himself. We have been in love with it for years. DH was out looking for houses about 2 months ago & saw that it was vacant. We have been stalking it ever since. The inside has just the right amount of personal touches. Don't even get me started on the master closet. Basically, if we were going to build a house, this would have been pretty damn close to what we would have done.

    Good luck! And the appraisal is easy, it is the home inspection that sent me into a tizzy. I think the home inspection is the most stressful and most important part of the process. FX for you!

    Haha yeah, you'll make it work. You might even get a bit of a pass on the packing and actual moving? I HATE moving, so anything that can get me out of it... (I think a newborn is a good "excuse") Stick out tongue
