This will probably be a p&r because it's past my bed time.
So I felt around done there for the first time pp. And by felt around I meanK checked out to see what kind of damage was left after delivery #2.
Um yeah, there is a chunk of skin hanging out! wtf?!? It doesn't hurt at all which I'm glad about since it is right where I've torn in the past. it is also a little shorter than my little finger nail, so not huge but definitely noticable.
iI had a better delivery this time around, last time I had a 2nd degree tear this time it was only a superficial one- no stitches. At my pp appt I was told everything looked good, she would have mention this weird skin thing. Now I'm trying to figure out where it came from in the last 7 weeks and what the heck it is.
I want to go get it checked out but I'm not sure if I should call my midwife or my regular dr. Well ladies, what do you think it is and who do I call?
Re: my lady bits -tmi
I don't know, but for some reason this is sounding very familiar - I think another bumpie had that issue when we had our Dec babies?? Maybe they will chime in.anyone? anyone?
I would at least call the OB & ask them what it could be.
edit - sorry, I meant your MW, not OB
This. I'd talk to my ob/mw.
My friend had this happen to her after her 2nd pregnancy. She didn't do anything about it until she had her 3rd and after delivery her midwife fixed it.
DD: 06-10-15 (32 weeker)
This did happen to me. I tore pretty bad with DS1 and tore again with DS2 but also had some 'shredding' as my OB called it the second time around. He tried the best he could to stitch me back up but some of it didn't hold and I lost some tissue down there. Nothing too bad, but I can tell it is different on one side than the other.
Is the tissue intact and just coming out from the inside, or is it looking like it is going to break off? If it is intact, you may end up needing a sling procedure done in the future to bring everything back up inside. We do these procedures quite often (I am an OR nurse) and many of the patients love the results. You can also have a bladder sling done at the same time to fix the 'snissing!'
Hopefully you can see your doctor and figure out what is going on down there, good luck!
