Growing up our kitchen door jamb was marked with pencil lines showing my sister's and my height at various points. One of the saddest things about moving half-way across country in junior high was leaving it behind.
We are in an apartment now so it doesn't make much sense for us to start one (don't think the landlord would appreciate me takings strip of molding when we go) but I'm feeling nostalgic for that old door jamb.
Where was you growth chart growing up? Have you started marking your LO's height anywhere?
Re: Growth charts - have you started one?
Ever since seeing the ruler one, I thought it was a super cute idea. I'm going to wait longer before making a growth chart, though.
My parents always used our laundry room wall to measure our height. And, now that we are all grown up, it is still there but behind the trashcan and hooks. I want to go over there and cut it out of the wall to frame.
I like your mom's style!
I saw one of these in a posh kids shop last week and was pretty tempted to buy it on the spot. But I wanted to see what other ideas were out there first.

I love the Monkey chart that site has but I'm not willing to spend $50 on it. I'm thinking I might make one with some fabric, embroidery designs and a fabric measuring tape from the notions asile.
Repinned!
I really like the ruler one, especially since we're renting our current place. Unfortunately, I'm not crafty enough to know how to sand and stain a board to look that nice.
I had a paper one growing up that was put on the closet door. It must have gotten lost or thrown away when we moved when I was 9 because I haven't seen it since. I do want something nicer for DS, but I've just gotta go out and find something I can paint a height chart on or break down and buy one. I definately want once before he's 1 though.
