Last night around 2 am in my sleep, I woke up to what felt like a charlie horse in my left ovary/groin. Is this Brax Hicks? I got 3 in a row and they would suddenly disappear after a full minute or two...what can you do to minimize this? I had salty pizza for dinner.
Re: Braxton Hicks first timer?
If it's one sided it sounds more like RLP than BH. I get BH all day long (30-40 a day) because of my wonderful irritable uterus and they're usually all over the belly, not just on one side. I would get RLP pains on one side or the other if I roll a certain way at night and it feels more like a pinching/knotting pain like you're describing.
Did your chest get tight at all? My contractions sometimes take my breath away or feel almost like anxiety (I know that sounds weird) because of the added pressure to the lungs. Another way to tell is if your belly got tight. If it didn't it's most likely RLP and not BH.
Nothing minimizes mine but for most people, you can minimize BH by staying very hydrated and changing positions - lay down if you were being active, get up if you were laying down, etc.
