MoMs, would any of you be willing to critique my registry? I think I got it all right, but as a FTM, what do I really know? I have three (yikes) showers coming up, plus this is really my master shopping list.
Is there anything on here I just don't need? Or anything you can't believe I have not put on my list?
2 Notes: I only have one car seat because I am getting one from my sister and I only have 1 boppy cover because I only liked one. LOL.
Thanks so much!

ETA: Ok, Mac users. I just switched to a MacBook pro and I use Google Chrome. How do I make links clicky?
Re: Would anyone be willing to critique my registry?
https://www.buybuybaby.com/regGiftRegistry.asp?wrn=-1622705302&
Clicky.
I think it looks great!
Thank you. I always wondered why some people's links weren't clicky. Now I know they are Mac users.
I would get 2 of the same boppy covers then if you only like one design. You will find it easier to change / wash both covers at the same time.
I love my green sprout brand bibs. I probably have 20 of them. Found they work the best. They are pretty waterproof when they start drooling, but are soft and wash up well. They come in NB and bigger sizes. https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=113703&
Are you having girls then? or one of each?
I would get 2 different kinds of swaddle blankets - you never know what will work better or each kid may like a different one. There are a couple different styles. https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=113571& or https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=16967572&
I loved the silky soft brand of Carter's undershirts - heavenly soft... worth extra cost imho. I would get a 1 pack of NB and 1 pack of 3 month size in long sleeves (they come in 4 packs) because you have winter babies. But I would still get 1 pack of short sleeves in both sizes too because some outfits are heavier than others and you just need a light layer underneath. - https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=15094370&
I would register for a variety of pacifiers or maybe not register at all for any. Also just wait to see what you get at the shower (people like to put them on top of package as decoration). But bottles and pacis are totally unpredictable and vary so much by baby's taste that you can't tell ahead of time what will work. Also if you have NICU time, the babies may prefer the hospital brand and you will return everything you have at home and rebuy them. My hospital used this brand: https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=128338& Of my 2 kids, one is pacifier addicted and the other can take it/leave it. I have probably gone through 8 of these wubbanub toy/pacifiers for my DD alone since birth and she can't live without it... but I would not buy ahead because you don't know what your babies will like if anything. https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=203228&
Highly highly recommend a tub thermometer for bath time. Safety first and I was amazed at how bad a judge I was at a safe water temp https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=14427384&
I prefer the Diaper Champ diaper pail. Uses regular household garabage bags. Contains smell. Lots of room for twin diapers load. I hate to use the word "love" for a diaper pail, but I do really like mine. Don't see it is avaialble at Buy Buy Baby though. Found it on Amazon, And if you have 2 level house, I would get one for each floor. You don't want to walk around, up/down, with 2 wet poopy diapers to find the 1 and only diaper pail in the house. Found on amazon and Babies R Us has the own brand.
gotta run, babies up, will try to look again later
I had the closet organizers and they seemed like a great idea, but with twins and the small amount of closet space I had and the large # of clothes I had, they didn't work for me.
I have the space saver High Chairs and they work great for us. Small dining room and we had absolutely no room for regular highchairs.
I would consider the Graco Snugride 35 model. With twins, I maximized the amount of time they used them (longer than most - to 14 months) as I was a slave to my double snap and go. Being single and not having an extra hand to help, I think you would want to keep the kids in the infant seats as long as humanely possible. I really struggle now to get my kids in/out of the convertible car seats .. in/out of the house, in/out shopping carts by myself. The staging and containing of 2 active babies is hard. And my 2 were really late to walk - 14 months and 15 months. So using the infant seats as long as I did was a godsend.
My kids loved loved loved loved this playmat ...held their interest for a good 30 min at times and they played with it up to a year old, believe it or not. and the music was not super annonying. Lamaze space play mat https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11847257
Crane humidifer is a necessity.
See that you registered for 2 pink bear wubanubs. I mentioned them in my first response. You might want to get 2 different animals to keep them straight when kids are sick. I don't make a big deal about them sharing toys when healthy, but when they are sick, I do try to keep track of who put what in their mouth.
I would definitely register for the regular size Sophie The Giraffee toys. My kids had both sizes and still use the bigger size today at 16 months as they are cutting teeth. https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=17110357&
Have you considered a Moby wrap or some type of infant carrier? I used my moby wrap all the time with my DD due to reflux and colic. But just having an extra safe place to stash a baby was very helpful. https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=40057545&
can't speak to the diapers listed, never used that brand. can recommend green mountain diapers (cloth-eez prefold diapers) as excellent burp rags, though. I was actually going to cloth diaper, but it didn't work out for me, but love the diapers for burp clothes and other cleanups. https://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/diapers.htm
if you are having 3 showers, I would definitely add more to your registry. A variety of items in all price points. You can get items for when baby is little older too. Here are a few thoughts:
inflatable bath tub when they outgrow the hard plastic tub: https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=17733605&
bathtub organizer - amazing how much stuff you accumulate
bath tub toys
bath faucet cover
https://www.buybuybaby.c
if you like organic product, I love this line of baby bath products over the Johnson & Johnson brand: https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=18140578&
feeding utensils - plates, sippy cups, silverware, bowls, snack cups
lamaze brand soft baby toys - Freddie the Firefly and Jacques The Peacock were favorites at my house
favorite books
don't see a diaper bag on your list?
don't see a pack and play? and/or co-sleeper?
We skipped the diaper genie and just use plastic grocery bags. We picked up 2 dishwasher baskets and probably could use a 3rd. We had 18-20 bottles between the small and medium sizes so we could go longer between running the dishwasher. We didn't use the long sleeve shirts, just the newborn sleepers and onesies. Do you have infant inserts for your gifted infant careat and the registered one?
I'd say add more newborn clothes and 0-3 clothes, maybe bumbos. We We used pnps and not rnp, but you may still want a pnp for a spot to hold them when they get more mobile or naps or something. We put our convertible car seats on our registry as we knew we wouldn't be able to pay the $500 when they needed them. Most don't add them as that takes months to a year off of the life of the seat because of the expiration date, but oh well. we have a diaper changing area in our living room, our room and the nursery, so you may want to think about getting (or making) more than one caddy. Also, I'm not sure of the weather where you are, but if it gets cold in the winter you may want to look at getting those things that zip around the car seat. Also, baby carriers so you can wear them when it is nice outside.
I hope you are stocking up on diapers as you see them on sale.
If you are going to be having three showers you're going to get everything on your list. IMO, you need to add some more stuff or you're going to be getting stuff that you really don't want.
These are just suggestions-
-more burp clothes-do one more six pack of white ones to start with. You may even need two more packs.
-more diaper disposal system bags-you don't want to be bothered with having to go get more in the beginning...register for another four or five...you'll use them.
-get an extra fitted sheet for each bed-even if it's just a white cheapie.
-put some disposable diapers on your registry
-I'm not familiar with the Born Free bottles but, if they have different size nipples, go ahead and get the other sizes. It's always nice to have a pack of them at home for when you need to use them.
-baby detergent and stain remover?
-Pack and Play?
-variety of infant meds, q tips, etc. You'll want to have these prior to the babies arriving.
-Sleep and plays
I'd skip the fancy burp cloths and Gerber knit ones and go with good ol' Gerber cloth diapers. Gerber stuff is, on the whole, crap, but the cloth diapers make the best burp cloths.
I'd add some Aden & Anais swaddle blankets. Mine were great at getting out of SwaddleMes but the A&A blankets were awesome. They're also more versatile - can be used as a stroller cover, floor blanket, etc. Totally worth every penny.
I think you could get by with 2 sets of crib sheets + a set of Ultimate Crib Sheets. Those are great. We also loved the Carter's waterproof pads (but not the lap pads, the bigger ones). We use them as liners for the changing table so we don't have to wash the changing pad cover as often.
I would skip the 4oz bottles and just get big ones. We were done with the little bottles by 6 weeks and I was pissed that I'd wasted so much money. I'd buy enough bottles to have a day's worth of feedings ready to go, in case you end up EPing or EFFing. Figure 8 feedings a day x 2 = minimum 16 bottles.
Agree with whomever said to register for the full size Sophie. Mine still play with her occasionally at almost 21 months (Fofie! Fofie! Squeak!). They were great when the 1 year molars were coming in a few months back.
I'd register for 2 swings and 2 bouncies and have one of each ready to go and assembled, and the other waiting in the wings in case you need them both. Worst case, you have to return one and have store credit. Best case, you have it when you need it without having to go out or wait for an order from Amazon.
I had Graco Snugrides but I wish I had done Chicco seats. The only benefit of Graco is they are lighter but we were done with them by 6 months because they have a smaller length and weight limit. The Chicco seats look nicer, too, IMO, and they have a lower minimum weight limit. If you end up with babies on the smaller side, having a seat that goes down to 4lbs instead of 5 may be important.
If you are having 3 showers, definitely add stuff like Bumbos, an Exersaucer, a Jumperoo, etc. And a sound machine. Sleep sheep are nice but they kick off after 45 minutes, which is the length of a sleep cycle. So you've got a baby coming out of a deep sleep and then suddenly the noise is gone. Recipe for disaster.
OMG, you guys rock! Thank you, thank you so much!
This was exactly the advice I needed that I wasn't getting from other online sources.
I'm saving this post and off to do some updating!
I would put a couple packs of Aden and Anais swaddle blankets. It's gonna be my go to shower gift from now on. I wish I had had them with my babies.
More socks and bottles. I never had enough with mine and I was always washing bottles.
At least one pack and play. Even if they don't sleep in it you have it and can turn it into a ball pit later.
highly recommend this Motorola video monitor with 2 cameras:
https://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=12661883
would add CD's/music - lullabies, classical, kids songs
we have this bouncer and exersaucer - kids love both - but looking at the BBB website, I see some newer versions that look great too
https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=14995510&RN=7321&
https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=16838691&RN=7321&
I disagree about the small bottles. My kids were preemies and used the small 4 oz for a long time. Even when they went to 8oz, I still used the 4oz for naps when they didn't drink as much.
also that thermometer you registered for... I *think* it can't be used until they are 6 months old at least.. and mine doesn't work really even today at 16 months.. I get different readings than a regular thermometer. I bought 5-6 different thermometers in the last year and this is the one I like the best... Vicks brand comfort flex with red, yellow, green light and large easy to read numbers..
https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3711284
don't see a crib or changing table or dresser on list
baskets for underneath changing table to organize things
bumper pads? controversial. I used the breathable bumpers.
crib mobiles?
rocking chair?
diaper stacker? couldn't live without mine. Attached mine to the end of the changing table. my kids have been in 2 different size diapers since getting out of NB size and its nice to have 2 stacks in 1 place of each size.
these aden and anais muslin blankets are a must have: https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=16692182&RN=7013&
I would add a few more blankets because its winter .. unless you think you will get a few handmade ones. Its nice to have a bigger sized "comforter" type blanket to put on the floor for cushion / cleanliness when you lay the babies on the floor.. something like this: https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=200639&RN=7013&
do you need any safety gates in your house? We spent a fortune on gates when they finally started moving.
do you have a first aid kit? how about a grooming kit ?
my kids LOVED these balls from an early age - when they could grasp and hold things - 3-4 months - its by Rhino Toys. Its the o'ball with the rattle. I can't find the item alone online, but as part of this 3 toy package set at Walmart.com. Its in the lower right hand corner of the picture. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rhino-Toys-Oball-Baby-Bundle-Blue/17164619
these ring links are awesome for so many uses: https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=15054085&RN=7086&
if your registry gets picked over before your 3 showers are done, I would add other toys are nice to have for a little older and then you don't have buy yourself at 6-9 months:
https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=15005890&RN=7086&
https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=17113313&RN=7086&
https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=18158655&RN=7086&
https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=17992040&RN=7086&
one last thing -
I would not get 2 of the same sleep sheep.
Get 1 sheep and 1 giraffe. https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=16763446&
Again, you don't know your twins personalities and they may like different things.
I have both and only use one at a time of course, but they beats / rythms / sounds of the 2 animals are different.
At different times, its nice to have a wider variety of sounds to choose from.
and 1 of my twins prefers one sound in particular over all the others and since she was colicky, it was heaven to find things that soothed her (it was the rainforest sound on the giraffe that she liked).
I would also increase the quantity of your diapers and wipes. You are going to need A LOT. I cannot believe how many diapers I used / go through in a day.
or add the really big quanities of wipes and diapers to your registry too. I swear 1/4 of my paycheck each week goes to just diapers and wipes.
baby record books? record the first year of milestones
picture frames?
photo albums? storage boxes for photos?
hand print / foot print kit!! Loved doing those and have them hanging in the nursery. Messy with clay, but well worth it.
all things I did not get at my showers and I had to buy myself after babies arrived.
last item -
Dr Brown Mixing Pitcher.
Haven't had our twins yet, but our boys are 22 months apart.
Exersaucer like someone else mentioned.
Not sure if the crib pad is a waterproof mattress pad. I would want more of those. If they pee in the bed, that will get wet too and you'll want to change it along with the sheet. Also, some nights they could go more than once.
Stroller for once they outgrow the snap and go. Double strollers can be expensive. We have the Bumbleride Indie Twin and love it.
I got my convertible car seat at my shower but wish I waited. My boys didn't use them until they were a year old. So the one I got at the shower sat around a year. These seats are only good for so many years before they expire.
Video monitor.
Saw them on there, but I love gowns and think you can't have too many. They made diaper changes so easy in the middle of the night. We live in South FL, and it's hot.
More changing pad covers b/c there will be poop on them.
White noise machine. We got ours from Brookstone so not sure if baby store has it. Ours has different sounds on it.
Ditto all of this. Also, I strongly recommend adding an Ergo (or something similar). I didn't get mine until my DDs were about a year old, but it's still one of my favorite things ever. It makes being out an about with two by yourself much easier. I could put on on my back in the Ergo and put one in a single grocery cart, single umbrella stroller, or even chase the other one. It's easy to keep in the car for whenever it's needed. Heck, my 3.5 year old DDs were fighting over who could be on my back in it last night!
