We were up in the mountains all weekend with sketchy cell service, so I called one of our friends who went to KC to help his wife, etc.
They did some sort of surgery to block the pain receptors from reaching his brain. Very old school kind of surgery, which is pretty much a last ditch effort. That was Saturday morning. As of a few hours ago, he had not yet awaken and it's "very touch and go" as to what might happen next. I'm not holding out much hope for a miracle anymore.
It's all very sad.

Thank you girls for thinking of me! It's rough.
