shaving..

ladies -- anyone else feel like shaving is so difficult these days?!

My poor SO, I try to stay fresh (all over) because we are still VERY sexually active, but it is so much work! Takes easily ten minutes just to get my hoohaa and I feel like I'm going in blind because I can't see anything because of this belly- hahaha, it really is very funny, espcially when I come out and yell D, how'd I do? hahaha. My legs are a whole other storyyy -- i get winded after the 1st one from reaching over, and dont even want to do the other, but of course must. some have said to sit but I feel like that squishes my lungs even more -- SO would be okay if I didnt shave honestly, he thinks im beautiful hairy or not (LOL) but thats what makes me want to stay fresh & clean ---  ahhh shaving.. damn you!!

Haha, this is funny.  I've considered waxing but hear it's extra painful during pregnancy.

  • I just got waxed and it was so painful! I did it regularly when I was pregnant with my son with NO problem - this time I almost cried!

Embrace the hair :) hahahaha or maybe SO would be interested in making it a joint effort ;)

  • as far as legs go, I started using the Intuition razor when it started to get harder to reach my legs. That way I don't have to reach them twice... It's quite helpful!

  • I feel ya, its getting harder to shave my lady bits and let me tell you- its just going to get harder these next few weeks!!

My suggestion though? Keep up with it even if you aren't doing the best job. I had to shave blindly towards the end as well last time, but I felt like healing/keeping things clean was MUCH easier than it would have been all hairy. JMO though

And yes, I've heard waxing while pregnant is much more painful, just stick to shaving what you can :) Even if thats just your lady bits and from the knees down, haha...

  • I totally understand! I cannot wax due to a skin condition, but I am seriously considering going to a waxing place and paying them to just do a good shave for me every few weeks!  It's so hard to do it myself now!

  • Seems like we're all in the same boat! I'm not surprised..
I feel less sexy already due to my belly and such. (Don't get me wrong.. I totally embrace it when fully clothed but naked it's just not sexy to me..) I do not need the extra/faster hair growth especially while not being able to "keep it up" like I used to... ugh!
Shaving has become one of those things I only do when I have to. (Poor DH!) We all know that just makes it harder when that time comes.. but what can ya do? Bending is hard!

  • The Schick Quattro Trim Style was a lifesaver when I was pregnant with DS, and I am using at again this time.  It keeps you clean and tidy, and like milesc said, you just have to kind of go at it blind eye a bit.

  • last night i couldn't hardly reach the back of my legs i almost had to call my dear husband in to help out but i value my legs and don't want them being all cut up.  thank goodness I'm still a little flexible.

my friend (who is 8 months pregnant) said to take a hand mirror in the shower with you to help you be able to see. she's a nut. :)

  • I haven't had TOO much of a problem with shaving my legs yet. It does get me a bit winded but it's my lady parts that I am struggling with. I feel bad for poor SO because I do tend to go a little longer then I usually would. Although, he really doesn't seem to care. lol
  • I was in a changing room with DD today after swimming class and she pointed at my crotch and said "wow, Mommy!  Look at your pee pee!  There's so much hair!!!"  I was mortified.

Ditto this!  I hadn't used one since college, where it made dorm shower stall shaving easier, but I got one recently.  It definitely helps!

This! Waxing has been so painful the 2 times I did it while pregnant. And shaving has become a CHORE!, so DH does it :) He enjoys doing it and makes our showers fun haha.

  • OMG, I just waxed for the first time since pregnant (I'd done it before).  I had the lady use hard wax (less painful), which in my previous experience wasn't that bad.  Yauza!!  THAT was definitely more painful then what I remember.

I had heard that you're more sensitive while pregnant, but it wasn't what I expected.  A couple of areas were more difficult then others, but towards the end, it wasn't that bad.  I feel so much better now and my DH was very excited with the new look.

I like the idea of having DH shave you though.  I've done that before and we both enjoyed it.

    Good luck!

  • I dread shaving. But I try to keep it up, invest in a good razor and blindly do as best you could... Sometimes I call DH in to tell me if I missed a spot :x..  As for my legs, I do them in the bath tub.

  • Legs I have an issue but can still prop my leg up on the wall in the shower but will use our tub soon.

I use to before pregnancy use Nair- and after the time I have been having= really can't see jack...I'm thinking of using nair again= rub and use the plastic razor to pull off in the tub...seems more logical than sitting/guessing and DH says it's ok til I look in the mirror and feel so dumb for even trying!
