Hey guys!
We found out that we are having a boy! We are both over the moon! I new, even before we conceived, that we would have a boy and that's what we both want! Anywho, my friend has a 5 year daughter who she was told was a boy at 15 weeks. I know technology is a lot better these days, and I've heard of people being told it was a girl and later found out it was a boy.
Our picture shows a very distinct pee-pee. My concern is that it may be a girl. Does this really happen?!?!? I have another ultrasound at 20 weeks (17 weeks now) so I'm sure they'll confirm it...
Re: Is 16 weeks to early to find out the sex?
It should be fairly accurate.
But, yes, people really are told 1 sex and have the other.

I think it's probably fairly accurate. The likelihood of the tech being right is more common at this point than being wrong. That being said, I'd still wait until your next appointment to make a bunch of baby boy purchases. As you mentioned, while it's not too common, the techs have been wrong before. I know a couple women personally that found out at 15 and 16 weeks - both were wrong.
