bring LO to salon and spa?

No sitter for today.  I really need to get a brow and lip wax for a wedding this weekend.  Would it be terrible if a brought LO to a salon with me? It is only a 10 minute appointment.  I have been going to the same place since they opened.  I'd never bring him while I got a haircut. That would be too long of a time.

  • I think it'd be fine as long as you can have LO within your sight but without being in the way

  • I can only tell you my experience and that was pretty much "don't show up here if you don't bring that baby with you!"  They love when he comes to visit.  The only issue is whether you would be able to hold him or if he would sit in his carrier during your appointment.  I wouldn't being him if you will need someone there to hold him/watch him during your wax (unless you call first and they say okay).

  • You go in your own special room.  LO can just sit in his infant carseat.
  • I'd go. Eyebrows and lips are quick. He won't even notice.

  • As long as it is properly ventilated and doesn't have the polish fumes in the air, then I would do it.
  • It's 10 minutes - take him!

  • I always go to the same place and take her with me and to be honest they get upset when I don't bring her along!

  • What kind of place are we talking about?  If it is a nice spa where people pay a ton of money to go and relax and you bring a baby that may start to cry, that is not appropriate.

If it is a salon in a mall or something, that might be OK.

ditto this. Not to sound like a jerk, but on the days when I get away and cost a spa, I'd be pretty irritated to hear a baby crying. I mean, people go to spas FOR relaxation and quiet

  • I agree that babies don't necessarily belong at a nice salon and spa especially if you have any clue ahead they may scream down the house.  I brought LO for my ten minute appointment. Apologized for bringing him because  it was just a last minute thing and I had no help.  They were all like no way bring him anytime.  He was great and never fussed or cried.  For anything longer than a quick wax I'd leave my LO home just because I know he'd never settle for that long. All is well that ends well!!
