Pregnant women who eat and eat!?

Ok, is this a myth? It this something that only happens on TV and movies? Because I really don't have any cravings. I hardly can eat at all. My dad and hubby wanted pizza last night. They got this big, gorgeous pizza and all I could manage to eat were three bread sticks. I haven't had any vomiting in this pregnancy, but some nausea in the first trimester. Am I going to get to a point where I am stuffing myself with any and everything like the movies and tv, or is this what I'm gonna get?

Re: Pregnant women who eat and eat!?

  • That is just the first semester nausea. It should get better in the next few weeks, and then sometimes comes back at the end.

  • you may never be one of those women who eats a lot during pregnancy. in my last pregnancy and this one, my appetite is totally normal (after 1st trimester). i don't eat any more or any less than when i'm not pregnant, and i don't have strange cravings that must be fulfilled NOW.

lucky me, i manage to gain plenty of weight not eating much at all!

  • I was put off by a lot of food in the first tri.....by the time I got to the third I was the crazy woman who ate everything...but I was GD so only ate everything healthy :) I had 6 meals a day plus woke up once to eat in the night (either a yogurt or a glass of milk) my stomach would be growling at 2am and I had to feed myself or couldn't get back to sleep!
  • You may and you may not eat a lot. I had terrible morning sickness and vomiting through week 16 and actually lost weight. Afterwards, I did develop a healthy appetite, but space was so crowded in there I could barely fit anything. I don't have experience with any other pregnancies besides twins, but I found myself to be eating many more TIMES a day and night, with much less food. And I had a fruit obsession. :
  • I didn't eat hardly anything at all until about 14-15 weeks and then I couldn't stop. I think now at 18 weeks it is starting to slow down again.

  • In my first pregnancy, I ate a lot more than I can handle in this twin pregnancy.

I was nauseous the whole first trimester and my stomach has been uncomfortably squished since about 22 weeks this pregnancy. Everything makes me sick and gives me heartburn now.

Oh and I have never been a "cravings" pregnant lady.

This is my siggy. Love it.
