follow up: arm's reach mini & platform bed

So we went to go look at the arm's reach mini at buy buy baby and they demonstrated how it stays attached to the bed.  however, I wasn't sure how it works with a platform bed.  My understanding is the strap goes under the bed between box springs and the mattress. the wood/plastic piece will sit flush against those two on the opposite side.   Has anyone used it with a platform bed?  It seems like it won't set correctly.

    I did a lot of research with this since we have an IKEA Malm platform bed and ultimately found out that unless you hack it somehow (parenthacks had some ideas) it doesnt work.  We ended up deciding to just used 2 RNP next to the bed since they are the perfect height and it works for traveling as well.

    thanks that's really helpful.  I thought we'd finally come to a decision what to do about our bedroom sleeping situation.  oh well back to the drawing board :)
