I said 1 week early, because they said my EDD was 9/15, but the dr said "you're going to deliver one week early" and he was right she made her appearance on 9/8. I was exactly 40 weeks that day.
I was one of those lucky 5% who gave birth right on their EDD, but I read that the average timing for FTMs going into labor spontaneously is 41w1d. That little detail made me feel better about waiting around feeling like a ticking time bomb toward the end, even though I got lucky and had her on time.

With my first, I was two weeks past my EDD. My second was a week and a half past, and my third was a week past my EDD.
Moms who are let to give birth whenever their baby will come, with no unnecessary intervention on the part of the care giver can go beyond 2 weeks late and have a perfectly healthy baby with a perfectly safe delivery. Some babies just need to spend longer in the womb to develop all the way. I fully believe that babies that are induced or 'sectioned' at two weeks, when they would have stayed in longer, would have been healthier and stronger if they had been just let be. Of course, instead, we guestimate weight and assume that the placenta is already degrading at 40 weeks, and assume that the baby must come out right then. Oh well, I'm getting onto a tangent and a soap box. Stopping now... :-)

I was dilating and having contractions at 7 months with DS so they gave me the shots to stop labor. Then I ended up going over and being induced about 1 1/2 week after DD.
I said my due date, although technically I went into labor on my due date and gave birth the day after, for both of my children thus far. We'll see if DD2 upholds the trend.
