DD is 10 mos old. I BF exclusively for 6 months, then with formula for 3 more, then stopped. In the past few months my period has gotten very irregular. Ironically, it was totally normal while I was breastfeeding! IDK if ceasing nursing is what has caused this but it's driving me nuts. I will have a period for 2.5 weeks then another in a week; bleed a week, then start again in a week. Having PMS for 3 weeks a month is awful. I went to the dr with the longest period and he rxd bcp. I don't really want to take bcp because we want to ttc asap. Will this work itself out in time or should I try the bcp and wait even longer to ttc?

I just went to my doctor about the yesterday. He told me that my body should regulate within a couple months, but gave me some anti-inflammatory type pills to help for the next 2 cycles. I had the choice between them and going on bc. Did you tell your doc that you were wanted to ttc? If not, maybe if you did he could prescribe you something else? Just a thought.
