13 weeks and bleeding/discharge

Hi,

I'm 13 weeks pregnant with twins.  Yesterday,  I started bleeding.  Unfortunately, my doctor's office closes at noon on Fridays, so I talked to the doctor on call.  She said since I'm not cramping and the bleeding is not heavy to put my feet up and rest this weekend and they'll get me into the office first thing Monday for a sonogram. Also, I should head straight to the ER if I start cramping or the bleeding gets heavy.  I stopped bleeding yesterday evening but I started getting a little bit of brownish/red discharge every time I wipe.  No pain or anything.  Did anyone else experience this?  I have a two year old and didn't have anything like this when I was pregnant with her.  Anxiously, waiting until Monday.

    I haven't yet at almost 23 weeks, but it is very common to have light bleeding with multiples pregnancy. I think they say if you are having bright red bleeding and going through more than 1 pad an hour, that you should go to the ER (or L&D, if you're further along).

    Had this exact thing at 12 weeks, went for ultrasound the next day and found out it was twins! Many people with multiples experience this so try not to worry!

    I get this at least once a week for the past 3 weeks. You may have irritated your cervix. Try to get in for an u/s on Monday if you are still worried

    I was spotting and bleeding from 5 weeks until about 17 weeks with one big bleed that sent me to the ER at 11 weeks and all was well. It is very scary when you are going through it but spotting is much more common with multiples.

    I was sent to the hospital with bleeding at 16 weeks. Dx: marginal placenta previa. I still have occasional spotting, which has been attributed to cervical irritation. I know it is scary, but it can be very normal. Best wishes for a healthy u/s!
