Re: TTCAL CHECK-IN
Hello!
Where are you in the TTC journey? We have not started just yet -- we will be starting in mid-September. I just took my last provera pill tonight to bring on my first AF since our loss in mid-June and will take it again in early September to be ready for our next injectables/IUI cycle.
For the IF ladies: what treatments/procedures do you have on the horizon? Ooops! Just answered that above. We conceived both of our sons with injectables/iui cycles. Our baseline u/s is tentatively scheduled for 9/14. My DH has an appointment on 8/20 to freeze his sperm. He travels for his job so we want to have some frozen in the event he can not be home for the procedure.
For those in the 2ww: what are you doing to pass the time? I am not in the 2WW but will be cheering on those who are!
What has proven to be the most challenging aspect of TTCAL? Although we have not officially started TTCAL just yet, I know right now I have many fears. Fears that with turning 40 in September, I will not be able to get pg again since we have faced IF in the past. Fears that if/when we do get pg, we will experience another loss. Despite my fears, I am also hopeful that we will have another successful pregnancy. That is my dream and I hope my dream comes true.
QOTW: What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? If you don't enjoy the Olympics - what is your favorite sport to watch/read about? Swimming is my favorite sport. I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years when I was younger.
Thinking of y'all. I will be cheering you on while we wait another 6 weeks before we can get started with our treatments!!

Where are you in the TTC journey?
We're on our third cycle trying, Hopefully I'll O next week and then we'll start the dreaded 2ww again. If we don't get pregnant this month, I'll start charting and taking my temp for next month. When we got pregnant the first time, it was on the first shot so waiting has been very frustrating.
For those in the 2ww: what are you doing to pass the time?
I'm not in the 2ww currently, but I've found that I do better with it when I don't plan to test. Last month I went in with the mindset of just waiting until AF showed up. If she didn't I would test, but not obsessively like I did the first cycle.
What has proven to be the most challenging aspect of TTCAL?
The roller coaster of emotions... hope before trying, doubt during the 2ww, devastation with AF, back to hope for the next month. I'm frustrated, but know this is what has to happen to have what we want.
QOTW: What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? If you don't enjoy the Olympics - what is your favorite sport to watch/read about?
I like watching gymnastics... probably because it's the most diverse and I get bored watching the same thing over and over again. Although I do like men's swimming, too... lol

I do not think you are crazy! We started thinking about TTC soon after our loss too! Part of it is my age as I will be turning 40 in 6 weeks (ack!) and I too love being pregnant! You are not alone!! Wishing you the best!!

Thank you for posting this check-in!
Where are you in the TTC journey?
I am on CD 5 of our second month TTC. I was disappointed, but not surprised when AF showed up this week. I am feeling hopeful for this month.
For those in the 2ww: what are you doing to pass the time?
I am not in the 2ww, but I am hoping to keep myself busier this time around. Last month I had a hard time not testing, even though I knew I would be disappointed. This month I am determined to relax and stay busy.
What has proven to be the most challenging aspect of TTCAL?
All of the waiting. We are so ready to have a baby at home. We started trying in the summer last year, so it feels familiar to be TTC in the summer. However, this time instead of just feeling excited for the possibility of a baby, we are grieving over our son.
QOTW: What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch?
Gymnastics and swimming are my favorites.
