So I was having labs drawn today and the tech was making the usual small talk.
"Oh what are you having?" "A boy"
"Do you have a name picked out?" "Yep, Simon."
At this point she kind of looked at me funny "Oh are you naming him after someone?" "No..." insert funny look from me.
"Oh well see you're young so I thought you'd have a cooler name for him." "Oh..."
I'm guessing by "Cooler" she meant youneek.

ugh, you can never please everyone!
my mum clearly doesn't like the name we picked (alice), but she's trying hard to not show it. she did let it slip that she thinks it's 'not as bad as mabel'. uh....
Kid #1 - 09/03/12

Some people have no filter. It's ridiculous. I agree with PPs, I like the name Simon.
I just loved her reasoning "Oh you're younger"
So that automatically means I'm going to name my kid something "different"?
I'd hate to know what she would think if she knew my olders names, they're pretty boring. Heck DD's name was #1 in 2010.

My husband and I chose Eleanor, too! And we ALWAYS get that question. Not a family name... we just love it.
I would need better drugs than the hospital gives out to do that.
